Rubber stopper bits in gear: How to prevent? What to do when it happens?

Any advice bros? Its happened a few times now and I had to waste some gear purging it from my loaded syringes. Now I have a sizeable bit floating in one of my vials.

I guess the easy answer is to stick in an 18guage and carefully suck it out, but thats more wasted gear....

How do you prevent this silly annoyance?

I don't know about preventing it, but I would think pulling it out and running it in to a fresh vial through a filter, would save what you have. Of course there would be a chance of additional contamination.

I've had this problem before. I had to switch to a smaller needle to draw my gear. i use to draw with a 19g but switched to 21g or 23g.

No problems now.

Pulling with a 20g pin I've never had the problem in a 20cc bottle, if you are doing a 50cc bottle maybe there would be a problem - maybe. 18g though, takes out chunks in my stuff so I don't use 18g through stoppers anymore.

Unless the juice is warm thats painfully slow, even for me! 20g is great

Sounds like the stopper had dry rot. Def run through a filter, you don't want to have a little chunk of rubber stuck deep in the muscle.

i have the same problem from time to time with the 18g pin. especially because the sterile oil vial i have is huge and has been used for several cycles with each pin.... I recently got a new top and filtered it, no problems anymore... Switching to a slightly smaller pin will def help tho
