Rugby strength and power

I'm still hoping to play thiseason even though I'm already missing some of pre-season.

I'm doing heavy compound lifts to build up strength and size I lost sitting around last year waiting for a shoulder injury to mend.

Anyone suggest a good program? Weights and conditioning generally.

I'm 40 and play as a loose forward.

best positions on the park. I loved playing at #8

as far as strength training goes, I think you are on the money with the compound lifts. you could try incorporating olympic lifts to.

your training obviously needs to revolve around explosive speed and recovery too so HIIT type sprints and plyometric bounding and shit would be ideal.

maybe some sled work
