Scared to Fall back into Old Shadow

3 yrs ago, i started hitting haard, had the juice, did everything i needed, and gained like a mofo....graduated, had to quit working out, (intense work scheduals)...lost all my gains, but kept the appitite :(

after topping the scales at 270, i needed to do something else... well now im sitting at 230-240ish, and i have that fire back beneith me...been aching to hit the gym for yrs again, but lazyness and the whole 'it was so much hard work to get where i was, i dont want to have to go through it again' ... well im going today and hitting the gym, and im more phyced nwo than ever.

I dont know where what forum this post belongs to, but im scared to death, that im goign to gain the 40-50lbs. right back, now i know all of it is eating/dieting...but i cant make myself belive that the weights could do it, especially since i have 50ml of test500 in my bottom drawer thats been collecting dust for over a year.

i have the frame, and the weight to make it happen...so should i concetrate on just eating really really clean, not worry about the 3k calories a day and still train heavy?

I never realized how much a rookie question this is, but this is what this forum is for, ...

thanks for taking the time,
let me know if this confuses you more than it does me

Thanks

im not sure if this is going to be asked but BF% is probally in lower/mid 30's *just a shot in the dark*

i would say to take it easy at first and ease your way back into it. and prolly hold off on the juice til your connective tissue gets used to training again. no sense in injuring yourself and then laying around second guessing your decision to start lifting again! good luck bro...

I'm in the same boat as far as having a long layoff. I'm getting back into it easy and get back to what i believe is my natty potential before i hit the bottle again. Mr. SUST's post is dead on. Good luck in your endeavors.

First, congrat's on coming back into the light!! :) I've been where you sit bro.. I'll tell you this, muscle memory is not a myth and when you do start hitting it hard again, it all comes back very very quickly.. and w/me came back even better!! Just ease in to it because injury and overtraining is quite possible at that stage.
Yes, definetly get your diet all squared away. At 30% BF you really need to concentrate on diet, keeping your cals low, carbs low-mod and protein high. Eat clean. If you want a new plan or something different try the South Beach Diet, works great.
I personally would concentrate on diet (cal deficit) and lots of cardio to get that BF % down. Throw in some very light circuit training to get your muscles popping again and joints ready for the big time.
Once your sub 18% BF or so, start banging it out hard again. Just my 0.02 bro.

I'm with JC on this, especially with getting your diet squared up. Also with the muscle memory. My gains come quick after a layoff as well as the strength...this is when I add the juicey juice.

I didnt read any of these posts above me, but I took a 2 month hiatus myself. Not that it is anything comparable to yours, but it reminded me how easy it was to lose a lot of my strength and size. Also, how hard it was to make the first step in getting back in. Focus on easy training, but more importantly focus on eating clean. You'll see how fast your body responds to both these, and how much better you'll look and feel in a very short amount of time. You have a one up on most people because it sounds like you've lifted a lot in the past. Muscle memory is key and youll see that working firsthand for yourself.

Not to sound cliche, but take it one session at a time. You'll wanna kill yourself if you keep thinking " Well I used to lift this much bla bla bla." And it will be very discouraging. Start fresh and clean and humble yourself with the weight and youll get better results.

Just my 2 cents.

yea yall are right on...

i know the devil inside of me, is to pick up those 90 dumbells, and try to bust out the 'old bench.... but realistically i know the devil thougts would lead to injury/discouragment

ive never gave the MMemory a try, for i never had to...ive already read on it....who knows maybe a good month would suprise me..

thanks for the encouragment

-Update-
Like i knew i would, i took advise with a grain of salt, and I want to do it right.. I have been watching my diet, eating pretty clean, but adding protien shakes *muscle milk* I was hitting the gym hard, but moderate in lifting.. even adding cardio for the frist time in all of my lifting yrs *shows how ignorant I have been in the past*

Honestly, I was amazed how the strength came on/back, as far as chest/arms/shoulders...so what did i do, i started the Test Cycle, thinking i was ready for it...im going in on my 3rd week, and i'm realizing that i have rushed and did exactly what i did not want/need to do.

I have been so excited/anxious to jump on the bandwagon, and to keep up with the 'jones' on the board, that i have realized that im putting my own health in jepordy.

I think its in my best interest to stop the cycle, and begin post cycle therapy (pct) in 2 weeks, and get my body in limits, to where im not so worried about certain health factors *ie. Blood Pressure, which has always been a issue in my life..one that certainly is triggured on my past cycles*

in the past 5 days, ive put on 8lbs. i had a horrible carb fested benge this past weekend, so im assuming that its that, and some water retention. There is no way that is juice, is it muscle memory *i have no clue, even though my chest/arms are comming along*

I am sitting at 240ish from my starting 235' with a decently high BF% ....

and with having moderate BP, i think focusing on shedding the fat and to get my BP ect. naturally down is the besty way to go...

So im goign to try focusing on eating clean *which ive been doing pretty good at, and maybe throwing in south beach diet
-maintaining my gallon of water a day
-ECA stack *or some sort of over the counter energy boost*
-and adding a 30min. cardio every day of the week

I will keep up with PWO protein shakes, as well as tuna snacks, for maintaining Protein counts/good carbs for muscle gains

I think if i were to keep that up, and get my Body weight to 200lbs. I can be in a good window to consider getting back on the Test E cycle, but only time will tell. I know that dropping a additional 30lbs, with adding cardio/good diet will naturally give me a healthy all around foundation

I know this is a extremly long e-mail, and most people will give the 'this is just another newbie' post..
but its really easy for people to come to a board that is focused around hard training/eating/AAS and jump in as fast as they can... this board has always been a great source for information with great feedback

so what do you think
-30min. cardio a day
-south beach diet / eating really clean
-protein shakes (is muscle milk the best way for me to go with this, or should i consider another one)
-gallon of water
-creatine

i feel fucking retarded writing threads like this, i feel like i take 1 step foward, 18steps back everytime i thread up on any diet/training/aas subject

Have a good one

longest hiatus 5-6 months

i did nothing but slouch on the bed playing ps2.

i would admit i feel like crap with cholesterol and sugars building up due to inactivity.

i would say this: it's alright to take a long hiatus just don't forget to do cardio.

and don't feel bad about writing something long. you have concerns about your body

so post away. remember to not fuck yourself up with cardio. most people tend to

overwork their cardio and fuck themselves up. 30-60 mins is sufficient.

also, don't be worrying about your strength lost after coming back from hiatus.

well, what would ones advise be on shedding fat, to get into a good BF zone, and still build muscle?

and what would ones advise on a good BF% to get to, to where i could maximize AA use in the future?

a realalistic goal of course?

is muscle milk to fatty for achievment?

Don't go on the South Beach diet just make sure you are running a calorie deficit and you will lose weight. The same foods should be eaten whether you are trying to gain or lose, just in different amounts, imo.

Jumping on cycle probably wasn't the best idea but I'm not gonna pretend to be qualified to give you advice on gear.
