why in the fuck does everywhere i go everyone wants to be a fucking cage fighter???? i took 3 years ju jitsu and i dont wear "tap out" "ufc" shirts, wtf is up with that, does that shit get u pussy or what?! because garentee 90% of people i see wearing that gear couldnt defend themselves if i slaped there ass right in the face

I don't want to be a fighter, I just enjoy BJJ.

If I was a teenager I may be of a different mindset. MMA is the fastest growing sport so of course lots of people are interested in it.

Myself, unless I was a professional fighter I would not be wearing Tap Out, Affliction, Sprawl, or any other MMA gear outside of the gym.

i never took any lessons but when i go to the club i am draped in affliction, ufc, extreme couture shit from t-shirts to necklaces and i even carry a fake severed finger around and tell people thats one person who didnt tap out fast enough. the pussy flows freely in my direction.

I love you. I posted a almost the exact post to this earlier in my UFC fans at live events post. It drives me fucking nuts. I've been wrestling for 11 years and doing MMA and Jitz for about 5 and I don't wear that shit to the club. It seems like fucking everyone who owns a big truck now has a $30 TAPOUT sticker attached to it. Gay. Take your dual exhaust and your 4ft high tires and get a penile implant you wannabes.

Of course its annoying when its some hoosier who thinks he's a bad ass, wears tapout, and doesn't even know what half guard means.. but all in all, most are fans and their just supporting the sport. Its all part of MMA becoming a fan fav sport. I love to see the growth personally. Its no different then any other fat-ass couch potatoe weaing a Green Bay football jersey.

well 3 years of ju jit su doesnt make you an MMA fighter, u only studied one art form, so technically if you wore MMA gear urself, ud be a poser like the rest, youd need to study other art forms to be considered a MIXED martial artist...

but yes it is annoying, i hate it too, but its no different then wearing underarmour, nike, adidas, puma, a teams sports jersey, your favorite teams fitted basecap... its just another brand of sports that people are into now, the fad will die down soon...

but you are right, 99% of the people that wear that most likely couldn't crush a grape in a fruit fight

i am a second degree black belt in kempo karate, have studied muay thai for 3 years, and boxed for 14, the thing i hate is when people find out that i am an amateur fighter, they ask "oh do you do UFC?" I say no, i do MMA. UFC is a company not a sport, i dont go up to someone wearing a nike basketball shirt and say "oh hey, do you play nike?"

Exactly!! ...however I now feel even more inferior as I only have Wrestling, BJJ, and some TKD ;)

When I was a kid I worked my way up to orange belt in Kempo. Does that make me a mixed martial artist?

Nope! ..that makes you a Uni-Martial Artist. If you can at least give me 1 year of 8th grade or freshmen wrestling we can bestow the MMA title upon you.. then your free to wear all the tapout gear you want. :)

Correction: I had an orange belt with a stripe.

I feel the same way about people who wear ANY sports jerseys or "gear".

You'd never catch me wearing a basketball football baseball or hockey jersey ever.

No sports hats, no t-shirts with a player or team on it.

I get why people do, but it just seems weird for grown men to be wearing the work uniform of 20 something year old kids.
