Sharing experiences with my TRT treatment

I don't know if anyone realizes it or not, but when your trough is approaching the max normal range...you are NOT in the normal range for most of your time on trt, you are above it.

this is true but nonetheless the idea of TRT is to not let your trough levels drop below your mean.

After feeling horrible for about 2 years I finally got my test checked out and it came back with a total of 221. I went to a few different doctors, with not much luck in them prescribing anything I finally found a great doc that put me on test injections of 200mg/wk. Since then, my labs have stayed a consistent 900-1100 for total test and I feel good again. I also take arimidex at .5mg EOD which has kept my estrodial in the 25-30 range. Luckily the only semi negative side effect is body hair growth and slight balding. These are well worth the good feelings I have while on the medication. Overall I am very pleased with the treatment and if anyone has any questions I don't mind share my experience or answering them. Cheers!

Hey deejai, who's your doc? I'm in alberta and so far two docs has dismissed me. One prescribed me test but the dose was way wrong. 100mg per month. So I went throughout the boost crash deal for three months till I gave up. He didn't do full blood work and didn't do anything the stop estrogen. And I'm estrogen sensitive. If you could pm me your docs info so I can get my life back on track that would be great

If you are going to an endocrinologist for TRT, thats the last place anyone should go for help. They cant even treat Thyroid properly. They mostly deal with diabetics.
100 mg a month wont do nothing for a male.

Says who? You know people test as high as 1700 naturally right? why is 600 good? cause its right in the middle?

There is several charts out there that you can find through google.

I never said that 600 was "good". I was talking about your trough levels being somewhere around 6-800, if you inject twice a week would be ideal...assuming you wanted to stay with in the "normal" range of most males.

If your trough is over 1000, you're not going to be within "normal" range most of the time.

I use to think the same thing, until I realized trying to mimic your bodies natural testosterone with a long ester injectable is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Thats just not how it works, at least best anyways. the goal is not to keep levels within peak and trough 100% of the time. This can be accomplished, but rarely accomplishes the goal of alleviating all low t symptoms.

Most men do their best, without complications, with a trough around 8-900. Which obviously means they are a little above range other times.

I don't doubt you are right for one second. However I am extremely interested in finding why these statements are true. Is there any chance you can elaborate on this or refer me to any source. It might help me with what I'm dealing with and I'm sure there are others very interested in this.

I would agree with this, if injecting every 3.5 days. However, if only once a week, It would most likely bring compications.

I work in a lab. I am familiar with interpreting results. However, I am getting my conclusions based on my experiences. Obviously, I am but one man.

I have my opinion, and you have yours.

There's no reason to make this into a pissing match.

you work in a lab so you know that people will have problems with once a week injections and a trough of 900ng/dl?

I guess we will have to have our own opinion but honestly your not making any sense whatsoever.

You realize who got the 2x week injects going around here right? Yup it was me, 3 years ago.

This does not mean once a week does not work. We have 100's of clients with bullets labs that have once a week injections and trough's in the 900's.

This is what we do everyday, so when people condemn our opinion and merely "work in a lab" it really makes me laugh.

Thats like me telling you that your process for checking that sample was wrong...........

Come on boys. Play nice and get along. :-)

Question for IMT: So is TRT more effective if occasionally your TT numbers are below or above peak? Was that your point?. You know more now than I'll ever know, so I have to start asking these questions now so I don't get any further behind. So please throw me a few crumbs of knowledge. :-)
BTW I'm not flaming you or making fun of you. I'm serious.

why are you getting bent out of shape because my opinion doesn't match yours?

I never condemned anything... Simply stated my opinion based on my experiences with TRT.

If you have other drugs in play, and not just Testosterone, then, after you get "dialed" in, you probably won't have negative effects.

Also, if you are donating blood every 2 months, you might not have to worry about HCT rising... Which it would with a trough of over 1000,and weekly injects of 200mg for the majority of people.

I cannot donate blood, and have to have a prescription phlebotomy for it if needed. Also, I would rather not have to deal with an AI because I had a bad experience with it the first time I took a .25mg dose.

I know I am not the only one that has these issues to deal with.

Again, I really don't know what your problem is. I am trying to be as respectful as I can here, but you are making it difficult...
