On a serious note: I'm surprised the yolk wasn't bloody if you had tissue in the egg. I've eaten fertilized eggs before and didn't get sick, it's just kind of gross when the texture isn't something you'd expect. Or if you're drinking them raw like we used to do back in the day before the big salmonella scare.
