Switch Cypionate to Clomiphene Citrate

Dr wants to switch me for fertility. I worry I'll lose muscle, confidence and sex drive.

Do you think 100mg/week Cypionate is comparable to 25mg/day Clomiphene Citrate?

If I abruptly switch from Testosterone Cypionate 100mg/week to Clomiphene Citrate 25mg/day will I notice a any transition?

Will testosterone levels and libido remain similar?

welcome to ology

expect test levels and libido to drop unfortunately , i have no idea what will happens as far as fertility.

this is the first time I've heard of a doc recommending a switch from test to clomid... must be some reasoning for it... but like Dawg said, u will have a drop in libido and overall well-being may drop as well... hope u won't be on clomid for too long, I can't handle it for more than a couple weeks

As far as I know, clomid only increases the amount of semen but I could be wrong. Yes you will likely lose size/strength and libido. Porn starts use clomid to increase load size but I don't think it increases the amount of active swimmers.

But if you suffer fertility issues on test, he is likely having you come off of it and attempting to get your body to produce lh/fsh and increase the amount of active sperm.

I'm assuming you are trying to have a baby. I guess he is technically right because it should force your body into producing fsh. I just don't like the idea of libido or erections being gone if trying to make babies but this is a tricky situation to be in. Most soca would take you off test if trying for a baby, you can still have them on test but it varies from person to person.

Have you had your sperm count tested?

response, thanks

Thanks for all responses so far.

It's not for PCT.

I had low testosterone count, and that's why I started Cyp, and I am so happy with results. But, my sperm count is now zero. I'm not trying to have a child now, but someday I would like to, and that is why a doctor is prescribing me to go to Clomid and off Cyp, to save my chances of fertility in the future. Of course, I don't like the idea of losing Cyp benefits. I've been on Cyp for 3 months. How long until permanent infertility is an issue?

I've heard of doctors adding Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) to a normal testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) cycle. While your doc probably knows best, you should maybe seek a second opinion and explain how important bodybuilding is to your lifestyle. That should help keep you on the TRT.

What about taking both Cypionate and Clomid together, Cyp weekly and Clomid daily? Could I do that?

you need LH as well. clomid, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and test might help you since you need test FSH and LH for Spermatogenesis. idk if clomid will provide FSH though..... im no doctor this is just what ive read in the past. i just started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and i plan on having kids prob gonna start tryin in year with the wife. i'll be interested in seeing your results in whatever you take.

i was thinking of just Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) therapy followed by just clomid would help me with fertility when the time comes....
