T3, and your period.

asking this question for my wife. she is currently on T3, and its supposed to be what i call "shark week"

question is can T3 effect the timing of when a period comes? she is a few days overdue. already did several tests, so we know she is not pregnant.

Don't think anyone is taking this as a bs question. I viewed, but don't have experience with t3, so I can't provide you with an accurate answer.

It's very possible those that have viewed this thread either don't have experience with t3 or it's never affected their period.

If she's tested neg, i wouldn't worry about it too much. All sorts of things can affect a woman's monthly cycle.

thanks, as i presented my "theory" to my wife it made sense. since t3 does effect hormones and the thyroid i figured maybe it would be a indirectly effecting her period timing.

while that makes sense in my head. i just want to know if anyone else has experienced this. at the least on thier first cycle

It can affect her period, if she's only a few days late & there's a possibility she could be pregnant I would take another pregnancy test after being a week late, just to rule that out.

I haven't experienced T3, but my sister takes Cytomel, which is T3 & her periods are irregular due to this medication.

I have taken t3 several times, t3 and/or hyperthyroidism can lighten or even delay menses.
