Little tip: As long as you have scripts you are good. But anything you put in your checked bag dont try to hide just put it where its easy to get to. Anything they see on the xrays and decide to go hunting for they will find, so just make it easy so your whole bag does not get torn apart or even worse missing the flight.

lol it's funny because I remember flying from here Canada to Poland for a medical seminar with a colleague and he had syringes since he was diabetic. And we ended up missing our flights because the airport staff did a thorough check after they found out we had syringes. And funny thing is that they didn't take in consideration the fact that we were doctors. So honestly just avoid the mess, and now it's a lot more securitized at airports.

My point being- it is TSA authorized to carry syringes and medicine on board. I just returned from flying to Europe and no problem either way with loaded syringes. Checked bags is more practical. As previous poster mentioned for carry on you'll need a script. (I guess even if you're a doc!)

My stowed luggage was inspected and my metal case was opened with no problems.
