Tanning Without Getting Tan....

Does anyone know if it'd be possible to go tanning with suntan lotion and still be able to reap the skin benefits of tanning without actually gettin tan? Tanning is by far the best for clearing up my skin on/off cycle, esp the back area. I need only go a few tims before I'm P. Diddy + Proactive'd up. But if I go three times I begin to tint significantly, which I don't mind just not during the winter months. I don't wanna be walking around during the fall/winter looking like the peeps on NJguido.com. Anyone know/tried?

i don't think u can use suntan lotion... it would not really work well... just go once a week tanning if you don't wanna get really dark... but broads love tanned skin remember that

it wouldnt work well for drying out my skin to reduce breakouts or wouldnt work in a tanning both in general? Cause I know tanning lotion can be used. If I start tanning regularly I'll eventually get dark, i usually tan pretty easily. Summer time I could care less I just don't wanna walk around like that during the winter. Winter where I am is about 3/4 of the year so it'll look pretty gay. I was just hoping that sun tan lotion would help prevent tanning to som extent while helping the acnes. I may just have to just give it a go and see what happens.

Maybe you didn't read the above posts. Artificially tanning during the winter, which is of considerable length and severity where I live will render me the title of homo. I do not live on Florida. Naturally dark? I'll be the first Irish/German Mick with a year round tint.

I think you'e also missing the point too. I DO NOT want to be tan at the moment. So suntan lotion not tanning in the bed isn't a problem. I was asking because I wanted the drying effects of tanning, which clears up my skin immensely, much more than derm meds, without actually walking around like a gotti boy.

I see what you're getting at here. IMO it may work to reduce acne, blackheads, etc. even with lotion. I would use a oil free formula though as others will clog your pores and render the exposure useless. I tan only 1x/week for this purpose but I only use Neutrogena oil free moisturizer. Keep in mind, damage to your skin from tanning is only a result of your body not being able to handle the free radicals that the exposure has created.

Thanks Doc. I'm gonna see what they have at the store for oil free lotion and go from there. If it does work it'll save me a lotta shit with breakouts for sure.

A) No insurance at the moment

B) Even when going to the derm I still didn't clear up like I did tanning. It seems like everytime I go its always a big guessing game as what to take. Try this and put this on, except I cant reach around for the back area which the derm seems to ignore everytime. Once I get the funds to go back I'll be making an appt, but until then tanning is by far the best or clearing up, at least for me.

I was talking about oral drugs like Acutane, Tetracycline, Septra, etc...

Anyway maybe just hit the tanning bed and put some lotion on your face and neck so it doesnt look so tanned.
