thoughts on why we get sick during and after cycles

Well I know that all Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) lower cortisol levels, which is in a sence good for the immune system as a whole. I am also aware that there are two arms to the immune system; humoral, and cellular immunity. Most seem to boost humoral and deminish cellular. Now how this corollates to people getting strange infections and such during cycles, I dont know.

When you are on Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) your cortisol is essentially 'damed up' not just lowered. When you stop your cycle people like myself tend to get respitory infections as well as other things. The flood of cortisol also eats muscle very fast.

The reason I bring this up is because I cant seem to run any cycle that I dont get sick from, mainly sinus infections. If any of you docs have any suggestions as to how I could do this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

not a doc, but i know that any time you introduce an external variable (AAS, antibiotics, supps) to your system, your body is forced out of homeostasis - normalcy, sometimes for unnaturally long periods. while this is good for anabolic means, it negatively effects your immune response.

from what i recall you have a predilection for sinus probs, no?

i have allergies, hayfever, and ear infection probs so i can empathize.

Bigd, I am sure that cortisol can cause problems after a cycle, but I don't think that is the whole story. I have intermittent sinus problems, too, but unlike you I get them even during the cycle when cortisol is low. I have been on for over 4 months now, so cortisol should be very low, but for the last two weeks my sinuses have been acting up again. I am not saying that you are wrong about a cortisol rebound causing problems, but I think that you may miss some important pieces of this problem by focusing only on cortisol.

this is a good discussion, i just started on sustanon only and i have had bad sinus problems. i didnt link one with the other until now. maybe they are not related, but on the other hand they might be.

xtinct- I think you are right....now if I could just figure out what causes this and if there is anything we could do to make it more bearable. My main problem is not just allergies and sinusitus but I was born with my frontal sinus cavities angeled up and unable to drain. This really sucks because a simple cold can turn in to something horrable for me. Matter of fact that surgery I had not to long ago was a complete failure and I have been having many complications. I know that I may never be able to juice again but I am not giving up on figureing this stuff out.

BTW- xtinct ygm

After = low test/high estrogen if nothing else, it will make you sick. Suppressing estrogen excessively will also make you sick.

I've never gotten sick but mild test flu.

Suppressing estrogen excessively will make you sick? Thats new to me....not saying its not so but I have ran l-dex way past my normal post cycle recovery with no problems.

I use liquid arimidex also, yes estrogen will make you sick if you shut it down and will affect your bone density, HDL/LDL cholesterol and yada yada.

Some hormonal levels are good.
