How many have to go on thryoid meds after being on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)? Just curious. I had my thryoid checked a few times thinking that was the cause of issues and was always in the normal ot low normal ranges. DOC is going to see how the levels changed?

I was the opposite. I was having severe heart palpitations and felt like I was going crazy when my doc discovered low normal thyroid and said it is well known that low thyroid can cause low test. Armour thyroid immediately cleared the heart palpitations and my test levels rose somewhat, but I still started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) because it wasn't where it needed to be. Just because you're "in range" DOES NOT mean your levels are appropriate for you.

A decline in TSH increases thyroid hormone production.

Well I have a blood test friday and they are checking this along with T levels. So your sayng testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can lower your thyroid production?

TRT does not normally lower thyroid function. Abusing steroids however, can do so. It actually is the reverse unless you have other issues. Low thyroid can in many cases be the cause of low natural test levels.

ok thats what I thought. Like I said before I was normal before maybe a little low but nothing that low. I guess their checking again just to make sure.

I had thyroid problems (hypo) before the low t. Got that under control then the low t came along.
