Just have to cut corners anyway you can. Gas is one big expense, when you go out, get all your stuff done with 1 trip instead of making several trips. Cut down on eating out, cook all your meals at home. Shit i dont even buy coffee out anymore, i bought the dunkin donuts coffee and make it at home. You gotta budget yourself add up your monthly bills compared to your monthly income and see how much you have to spare.

I signed the papers on a loan to consolidate my credit card debt. It effectively cut my monthly payment in half. But to be perfectly honest I am making more money now than ever before. I stopped watching the news a year or so ago and my business is booming so I am going to keep stimulating the economy.

I just recently dropped my cable with Charter. I was paying $75/month for that and a DVR.
I bought a $50 dollar long range antenna (29"Lx19"Wx4"D) and pick up all my local channels. Bought two tuners for my PC, hooked it up to the 52" LCD and run it through there. Better than regular HDTV. We don't watch too much TV, but all the cable shows we watch can be found on HULU and Fancast for free.
So, for about one months worth of cable, I'm saving ~$900/year. Thats not bad if you ask me.

If you are still interested in DVR, there are MANY free programs for PC's with tuner cards that turn your PC into a free DVR. It records everything on to your PCs hardrive that you set it to and then you can stream it just like you are not to your LCD. Same exact thing as DVR, just free.

already done. Windows media center has DVR capabilities. that is why I have two tuners in my PC. so I can record and watch something else. or record two things at once.

Ive cut through everything, like Instead of bellsouth home phone, Im using a phone device on my pc I can make free calls and just pay $20 a year, I trade in both gass gussler vechile, and got me a compack vehicle, not to mention I stop payment to all of my credit card and decided to go bankcrupt lol, but RJ I would like to get pirate cable, do u know or any of u know about what or how to discramble my motorola cable box ?..
really no need now with all the free sites that show all the shows. And there on demand.
Only way i know how to get free cable is to use a tuner setup like mine, and plug in the cable that goes to the box, but its only available in Windows 7 as far as I know.

Well in the last recession I started out so broke I couldn't pay attention. I went from a good salary to living on unemployment. .....It was rough. Finally I had to start a business . A down economy is a great time to start a small business. If you listen to peoples problems and find a solution to them chances are you can sell that solution.

yea im in cali too... my pops has been unemployeed for over a year now.. and your talkinga bout a guy who was making 6 digits in the construction industry though his small biz...
now my brother and i are left to pay a hefty mortgage untill he gets back on his feet..
