I can tell you from experience. I was in the same boat where I know when I was in my 20's, I got a girl pregnant. We had an abortion. Now many years later, my wife and I tried to have a child and I thought it was her the whole time. Finally I went in to check for little swimmers. The first test results...the doc said, he didn't find ANY swimmers...so I said they were all dead...he said no, you're not understanding me....there wasn't any sperm!. I was like hmmm...so we checked again, nothing shooting blanks evidently.
I had two considerations at that point, either I wasn't producing sperm or I was blocked. Since I am as the doc said normal, he said there was a possibility I am blocked (I was told think of it like a vasectomy). The only way to test was to surgically go in and scrap the testicles to check for sperm.
....so after the surgery (and temporarily squared shaped nuts)...I was blocked tons of sperm found in each nad, though in these type of circumstances blocked means there are a couple of scenarios whereas one can be possibly fixed but with a typical 15% success rate, the other non-fixable. I opted to freeze the sperm.
Don't go an any type of AAS if you plan to keep your sperm count up. Before I was surgically checked, I was put on Clomid for a period (which after is when I retested)...o and yes, you can bring your wife in for assistance. Though be careful how she does it...in my case, we still laugh about it but it wasn't funny when it happened....when I was ready to fill the cup she very quickly and misguidedly scrapped the head of my penis on the side of the damn super small cup AND too boot jammed it down the cup snubbing my head at the bottom as if you were stamping out a fat cigar! Yea that sort of ruined the finish...lol
