What was supposed to be a 7-10 mile mud run with 16 obstacles, somehow turned into 13+ miles of the deepest mud and shit (literally cow shit on the course), 20 obstacles including 40 degree water that you jumped into from a 25ft plank and had to swim across 50 yards of, and ended with 50 feet of live wires with random 10000 volts low amp shocks going through them that you had to run through. It was by far one of the toughest things I have ever had to go through. But..
My whole team made it, including my badass wife who has never ran more than 6 miles, and although we walked most of it, anyone who can do something physical like that for 5 hours straight with no food and limited water, while nearly freezing several times in muddy ice water (they literally put ice in the mud pits), is pretty badass. One of the guys my wife works with did it with us and hes lost over 110lbs in the last year, and although he almost gave up several times, toughed it out and finished with us to receive the coveted orange Tough Mudder head band.
Needless to say, if any of you really want to test your mental fortitude and just basically prove your badassery... you may wanna give this a shot. It was by far one the most fun things we've ever done, and to be able to do it with my wife made it even moreso.
Heres a pic after we got our Ts and headband, and after we finished. Once the pics come out tomorrow I'll post up some more.
oh yeah, my knees are 3 times the size they are supposed to be. 250lbs dudes are not designed for this shit. But hey, now i can say i did it AND got the t-shirt.
