What kind of cardio?

whatsup, i am going to start to do cardio more frequently but I dont want to do it to where Im running 30 min 4-5 times a week and then loose all the strength in my legs. shouldnt I just focus on doing a lot of sprints instead. oh and i need to get faster as well for football in the fall.
 
You could try walking, biking, or rollerblading. If you have access to an elliptical glider that would probably be the best. Don't do the cardio too fast have a steady pace and do it for 45-50 minutes.
 
You are going to hear advice all over the spectrum on this one. You can try sprints like you said, HIIT style, I hear a lot of guys having success with that, or more traditional cardio, or whatever... Personally, I liked HIIT, but some guys swear by steady state (i.e. boring) cardio.
