I usually use 25g 1 inch to hit the quads, but just got a box of 25g 1.5 inch...anybody ever use these for quads? Looks fucking scary long, but is it OK? Experiences?

yea it's cool.........just go in 1" worth so there's some pin left

Exactly. Why does everyone think they have to go all the way in depending on the needle size?

Its a myth that has been promoted by various vets and mods here for a while.

Hahaha.....myth, my ass......lol

There is one very good reason to go all the way in, and that is so you have less chance of moving the pin in or out and therefore injecting into a vein after aspiration.

If you want to use a 1.5" pin at a 1" depth, cut the plastic seath like KRS eluded to.

Exactly. Gosh, I thought I was the only one that felt this way. I've heard the tidbit about not pushing the pin in incase it breaks, but I've decided that would be damn hard to do with a 25G pin. Insulin pins are a whole different thing and I think that is where this comes from.

I mistakingly used a 1.5" pin for my quads a while back. Wasn't a problem at all. You could go in at a slight angle if you are really skinny and have small quads, I suppose.

I use 22's all the time. with 1.5" just keep some pin out, which is what i do.
I've went 1.5's in my delt all the way with no problem, though on angle.

I see the logic, but don't necessarily agree. When I innect in my tris, sometimes as I am pushing the pin slowly I can feel i am touching a nerve. So I have like half a cm left to go on my 1 inch pin and I have a choice, I can either hold it there, aspirate, and push the oil in, or push deeper, hit the nerve and risk my whole tricep jumping so fukin hard that the pin comes out any way I have to go through the entire process again, but with more scar tissue and a huge bruise where I hit the nerve. Simple choice IMO.
