When do you work out and are you a weekend warrior!

During the week I manage to get in about 2 hrs of gym time a day. Thats just enough. You know I never liked getting off work and hitting a crowded gym. I never liked reading about someone doing that either.

Its crowded and you want to go home and sleep. What about those people who work 16 hrs a day, get in 1-2 hrs at the gym and all they do is sleep. What a life! :( :D Work is tiring.

When do you get your workouts in? If you have weekends off, do you catch up on your gym time? Do you catch up on lagging body parts. Do you do crossfit, or something else? Whose a week and a weekend warrior?

If I'm working... I do my weights at lunchtime and my smaller muscle groups (abs, calves) in the evening...

If I'm off, I'll hit a local gym mid-afternoon to hit it when it's quiet...

I only introduce cardio on a cut, this would be 2 x fasted low-intensity steady state CV sessions first thing in the morning - and 2 x HIIT CV sessions that can be blitzed in 20 mins in the evening.

I always weight-train on weekends too, but give myself a Sunday off every alternate weekend.

I workout from about 7:30-9:45am on weekdays, at an OK/adequate gym that I'm not a huge fan of

On the weekends I sleep in a little (but I honestly can't sleep in much no matter how I try) and hit a nicer gym, preferably with a bro or my girlfriend for company - anytime during the day works.

Sometimes I do double or split workouts on the weekends if I don't have much else going on.

Typically I work out 6-7 days a week, for just over 2 hrs (including cardio) or around 100 minutes (off season when I'm doing less or no cardio)...only exception I can think of is either being super rushed or during prep where it's 2x/d cardio for the last few weeks (plus weights)

I start work at 6am, so I get up at 330am and I'm in the gym by 430am. I workout until about 530 or 545. After work I'll drop the kids off at MMA and usually head to a different gym to do some cardio. I'll take a couple days off during the week and usually hit it hard on Saturdays. Sundays I'll go just for cardio in the am as the rest of the day is reserved for football!

bro I don't pay any attention to the days of the week except for what I'm training on a given day, and if the hours of the gym are shorter say on a weekend. some of us work shift work so our weekends can be any different days of the week. if you're getting two hours a day gym time, you're getting more than dare I say most of us with kids, other responsibilities. if you got much more than that you would most likely be overtraining, or are already might be. don't forget rest days. my 2cnts.

I go to the gym during lunch time, it gives a nice break from work and there is no one at my gym at that time. My boss agreed on giving me a longer lunch time, i just need to stay a bit later after work. So normally i'm 9-5, but i work 9-6 with a 2 hour lunch break.

1 hour weights 5 day s a week with cardio it s more like 90 minutes..love a m training as evening training get s me to geared up to sleep..which is integral to recovery.

My work schedule is 4 days on 3 days off, then 3 days on 4 days off....12 hour shifts with one 8 hour shift (which falls on the 3rd day on week in the middle...so it's a 12 then 8 then 12). The 4 day work week is all 12 hr shifts.

I workout (weights) after work on the last two work days. Then take a break. Then workout the next three days straight which fall on off days. So the workout becomes 3 on 1 off, 2 on, 1 off. Cardio happens when I wake up before I go to work. Right now it's a pain during the cutting phase, but looking forward to the bulk when the cardio session's length and frequency decrease somewhat, other than that getting ish done. Although working out after work on those two days that it falls on workdays, is a pain because you never know how late you're going to get stuck at work, and in the back of your head you know the gym is still waiting for you.

School from 9am till almost 5pm M-F, then race home to inhale rice and tuna before hitting the gym for 2.5 hours (including bs time with the other regulars and cardio) . Head home to play with my daughter and hit the books till 11pm or so. Rinse and repeat.

I try to sleep in a little on weekends, and usually hit the gym before noon so I can spend time with the fam and do homework. Sunday is just cardio day, but usually head there about the same time.

It's not an easy schedule to maintain, but where there's a will - there's a way. ;)

I work 7 days in a row then I have 7 days off. When I work i am out of the house for 16 hours so needless to say most days the energy isnt there and I dont functiom good on 3-4 hrs of sleep per night and like you said the gym at that time is packed like a sardine can and that just annoys me. So, when Im working i try to get there twice for absolute certain. When I am off I will go 6 days, 3 on 1 off repeat. Id like to get to the gym more when I work but this is life so I suck it up and do what needs to be done.

Early morning is how I swung it. Sucked on leg day, but doable. I used to load tires into trailers by hand, so after the gym and 200,000 pounds of rubber - I slept like a baby.

^ That's the hardest part of everything you said. Man I haven't ate tuna in years. My girlfriend at the time (now wife) hated when I use to warm it up at her apartment. She couldn't stand the smell. It's been so long, I honestly don't think I could start eating it again.

I honestly can't believe that I do still eat it. I've been eating rice and tuna since I was a teenager, ohhhhhhhhhh so long ago. I have subbed in shredded chicken with a half-can of cream of mushroom soup on rice though.

I'm going full keto next week, now THAT is going to be rough!

I used to try anything to get that tuna into me lol

I remember once throwing it in a blender with flat diet coke and chugging it - cos someone said it worked for them...

My arse was playing some mighty fine tunes that day I can tell ya! :ugh:

How on earth guys with manual jobs can run competitions - I'll never know...

To find the energy - and the time - to fit in cooking, eating, weights, cardio - on top of 8hrs hard graft...

I doff my cap to you all!

get up at 3am, walk the dog, scarf some food, 1.5 hours at the gym, shower, at work by 6:30am latest. Walking cardio (incline treadmill) 30-45 minutes at night after my daughter goes to bed. 4 days a week doing that, then 1 or both weekend days I fit something in, snowboarding, rock climbing, etc...

Been working on railroad for 12 years. Most of the time like T said, I hit the evenings and blow off some steam. If I don't make my breakfast I will do a 4am workout. Having the proper food when you are in the middle of nowhere is hard sometimes. Cold food or spoiled, take your pick
