I think i had the absolute worse deadlift day ever today..everything seemed normal..im not sure what the hell happened..i could barely get 450 off the floor..450 is something i dont even think about i get up and pull it for a couple of sets of 5.!!!!! i dont want to blame someone else but my brother recently just messed his back up bad (not related to lifting)..but that is something i thought about and also they were putting some new flooring in kinda right behind me..i felt like the biggest friggin puss!!!!!!!!

some days on deads the groove is hard to find, others you don't even have to think about it.

everyone has bad days , even us old wooly mammoths ;) unless its close to or during a pl meet i barely even worry about them anymore as long as its just 1 day here and there and not a trend . the factors that can cause a bad day are endless [ not enough sleep, low blood sugar, not enough food in general, to much work at home/job , illness coming on ,overtraining , personnal distractions ,just off cycle ,etc.] if i feel its just not my day and cant lift like i should depending on what i think the cause is i might stop all together , drop down and do reps for conditioning , or if its one of the big 3 [ squat/bench/deadlift] i might just work on form and technique .

thanks dawg..ive been taking yours and PB's advice and not pulling from the floor every week..rather ive been alternating from rack to the floor..in fact this was the first time in 2 weeks i was going to do full deads..you know what though you make some really good points i let it bother me too much and it thre the rest of my workout off..next time hopefully not for a long while lol if it happens again ill follow your suggestions..

Same thing last week but figured it out. Went to ass to ankle squats and added hacks probably wore me out.

thanks mudge. you know i was reading the posts in that thread and it amazes me how many folks had negative comments. i garauntee that the guys puttin him down dont and never will look like this guy. he is a beast and i know he has worked his off, in the gym and out of the gym. props to "world".

damn what a difference a day makes..even though it was only delts/tris/abs i was able to just power through all my weights..we'll just forget about yesterdays debacle learn and grow from it!! thanks for listening to me rant!!!

as i've gotten older i've discovered a few things when it comes to crappy days in the gym. sometimes i need a bit more up sets, extra time with my roller, or just switch to some accessory/supplemental work and a deload week.
