I had a question i was hoping someone could help me with, i workout everyday pretty intensely, im lifting weights for at least 2-2.5 hours at a time on top of doing a mile before and a mile after my weight training, im doing one body part per day, im just not getting fatigued in the gym, and I could keep lifting if i wanted to,:elephant: and im hitting it pretty hard not just saying that, does anyone think they might have an idea as to y this is happening, alot of people tell me im over training , but if this was the case wouldn't I be fatigued all the time? any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

depending on how im feeling ill go heavy 3-5 reps

or light 20-25 reps

this is juss to give you an idea of one of my werkouts i take 1-2 minutes rest between sets
still sound like a pussy? ive had dudes quit after 20 minutes lmao so I know its not cuz im hitttin it like a bitch, now dont get me wrong, i am tired, but not exhausted like id like to be, no matter what I do i cant seem to werkout to the point that I cant lift another weight, i do reach failure at sets, but after a lil bit of rest I can keep going.
i also have lost roughly 150 + lbs over the past 4 years used to be at close to 400 lbs bro.

??? lmao bcuz you bench 315lb's... dude I when I bench I warm up with 315. Incline dumbells 85lbs? that is baby weight... besides that though... something is wrong if you aren't getting tired. You aren't exerting enuff force to properly develop muscle to the fullest.

for example 30 sec rest max between sets ... warm up with 20-25 reps of dumbell curls light-med weight.. I curl 3 sets 12-10-8 bent bar, then cable curl 3 sets 12-10-6, then I bent bar curl 3 sets of neg's 2-4 reps...

then i hammer curl start with med weight say 40lbs until failure, no rest, 35, failure no rest 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 5 failure then progress up until I can't rep usually around 30-35lb's.

if you do this, i assure you your arms will be tired.

Dude I warm up with 315 when I do barbell curls.:dance2:

well i workout solo for one, 2 im only 5'6 so 315 is alot of weight for someone my height

Oh for sure bud - Matt just happens to be a massive man-beast (but we won't hold that against him).

Ultimately, you should always be able to make yourself tired. For me that usually involves mixing things up - be it the type of lifts, order they're done in, # of reps, etc.

You can and should always find a way to challenge the muscle.

PS in case you guys were wondering, I really don't warm up with 315 on curls haha (I know, I know, I look like I do LOL)

im 5'6 272 right now , 31, and not sure, im still working on burning the last bit of this fat off its hard to tell, in no way am i ripped, but I am pretty big, big enough to balance a cup on my upper pec, arms are at 18.5 inches, calves at 17 in, and my quads are at 28 in waist is at 43 though, (mainly the spare tire i have left from being so fat) but its burning off
I do know how to work out,i mean i am and have been growing pretty well, my heart gets pumping and im sweating hard during each set, to the point that my shirt is soaked in sweat by the time im done, but im just not getting exhausted like id like, i switch up my routine every 3 months, during those 3 months im doing heave/medium/light every week
ie.. week one heavy
week 2 med etc...
i started doing plyometrics in between sets, i got tired the first week, n now not so much. :wtf::Puke:

wow dude, you only switch routines every 3 months:eek:....no wonder you arent tired, your muscles are so used to your routine that its just another day in the gym,so how could you get wore out? your muscles pick up on a routine within a month and from then on,your muscles are so used to the workout, that they dont grow anymore, they are used to it.....i change my routines once every 4 weeks min,i'll do 4 weeks of a routine and then switch to something totally different, you will start to grow more then, cause you shock your muscles and they dont get used to a certain workout, and at the close of the 4th week, they will start adapting,so then change and shock, just my .02

You smoking something between sets? That's crazy, should be tired afterwards

lol no not smoking nothing lol

@bullseye forever, i apologize bor but that theory is up for debate, i do alot of research, read a bunch of diff theories on this, some docs say 4 weeks some say 6 weeks, I personally listen to my body, sometimes its 3 mnths sometimes its 2 i can feel when my plat hits,
same thing goes for ppl that say lose the fat first then bulk
this is bullshit, Ive been doing both at the same time, I don't have sagging skin because im doing both, even when i switch my routine its still the same thing juss not tired. I give up fuk it lol :destroy:

i totally understand you point as well, with certain muscles, the smaller ones, you can go longer,i was just tlling you my experiences and what works for me,i guess i shouldve posted it like that, sorry lol......

I kind of know what you're talking about, I was getting to the point where I wasn't even breaking a sweat although my weights were moving up pretty well.

I moved over to a verrrry slow workout for a bit and that cured it up for me. I would say bench my normal workout weight and then at the end of the first and second sets I would do 30 seconds down and 30 seconds up....that will wear your ass out.

OP... i wasnt calling you a pussy... just fucking around.

The bottom line is though... you aren't working out properly. Are you that guy at the gym that sets on the bench for 30 minutes to hit 3 sets?? Dude, I work 2 muscle groups per workout and I am out of the gym in 50 min's max... now why it takes you 2.5 hours, IDK bro.

lemme rephrase 2.5 hours on back and chest day, other days 1.45
lol no not that guy that sits at the bench for 30 minutes hahaah :wiggle:
im doing like 12 exercises juss on chest
1-2 minutes rest between sets 4 sets
that alone is like 30-40 minutes juss on resting

I workout in about 45 minutes, and on arms day I have trouble opening my car door and have to have my pwo shake ready before I go to the gym because I can't shake it. On legs I sit in my car and talk to my friend who works at the gym till I feel safe enough to drive. If neither of these happen I didn't work out with enough intensity. But I recover really well , and after I get back home and get my next meal ready I feel great and my energy has shot up.

It would really be neat if a member came in, knowing nothing about the OP and told him everything he assumed about his training. Oh wait......

Seriously, some guys actually have what is called a build up of fitness, and can train both intensely AND for a long period of time. What happens is that about an hour into a tough session, the CNS "beefs up" and sends signals to help the body combat the pounding it's receiving. I REALLY notice it on leg days....where my first 5 sets of squats wreck me, but by the time I've done backs, rdls, extension, curls, and back to hacks and calves, I'm good to go again. This type of volume training is exactly how many of the past champions forged their physiques.

With that said, I also train high intensity, 2 sets of positive failure, and 45-60min sessions as well. Some days though the volume/2 hr sessions are where it's at.

BTW, that whole "science" stating that you go catabolic after 1 hour of lifting is PURE HORSESHIT. Think critically for a moment people. How on Earth is the human body that fragile, not to mention what a freaking arbitrary time frame. "50 minutes is good.....60 is baaaaaaaad." LOL
