So, just as I was telling notdorianyates the other day about getting injured when feeling at the top of your game, it happened today. I should have seen it coming and just ran out of the gym. Was flat bench day and felt great. Did PR on it for 6 reps after good warm ups etc. and did 3 sets at that weight. Then dropped to 185 for burn out set of 10-12 reps. Did 2 reps and when I started to push the 3rd I felt a pop and intense pain in my left shoulder. I thought I was going to drop the bar on myself. Fortunately my fear of embarrassing myself and ego helped me get it up and racked safely. Jesus, I would have had to change gyms if I had screamed for help with 185 on my chest.
I immediately unracked the weights and went to the shower. No triceps, just ended workout. Never have really injured shoulder like this, so we'll see what damage in a couple days. Fuck.
