70's Bodybuilding - What were they using?

changing the subject, how did these guys get in enough protein and cals, did protein powder even exist and it's not like you had nutritional information on the side of teh packaging like you do now...lots must have been guess work ??? I would have loved to have seen a typical days diet... one cow followed by 6pints of milk and 30eggs...anyone have a log or interview extract ?

oh you see theme very day

Dude I was agreeing with you...I was saying that just because your big does not mean you could be a pro. Just look at heavyweight or super heavy weight guys who will never, ever be in the top 10 at Mr. O. It's because, even though they are huge, they just don't have the right proportions, symmetry, etc. There is only a small hanfull of peope in the world who have everything it takes to be pro.

Actually, they had a good amount of knowledge regarding nutrition. Franko Columbu was probably one of the best at those times, and stills gives advice today.

In Arnie's book he makes his own protein shakes outta eggs and shit like that.

yeah but what % of the population has those genetics? I would day 8%

Like Lift said, genetics to be big? Plenty. When I go out I see some pretty friggin huge bouncers, 5'10 250, 260 easily. Now where would they stand on a competitive level? Not very well.

that doesn't even include all the bullshit politics in the world of bb'ing.

how much primo do you estimate they used in a cycle. i remeber some one saying in this thread, that they mostly used primo and dbol
