A new PR
...and it doesn't have shit to do with lifting iron.
My cardiovascular health is pure shit right now, and I have the lack of endurance, high BP, high cholesterol, and high resting pulse to prove it.
A 15 foot sprint run and I'm fucking winded.
So tonight, with the wife and child gone, I jumped on the treadmill. Set it for 6.5% incline and just 4.0mph. Not much for a normal person, but very difficult for me past about 30 seconds. After about two minutes, I thought I was going to fucking die.
I ran for 1.01 miles. Just over 15 minutes. Hit 'STOP', and fell onto the floor. Laying in a pool of sweat (hardwood floors), I finally got up after several minutes.
Ouch! Both calf muscles fucking cramped. Couldn't even stand up. Stretched 'em and stood up and then the quads started cramping.
Anyway, I hope that tonight marks a turning point for me. My wife runs nearly twice as fast as this, at five times the distance, several times/week.
Lots of hard work ahead.
