Abs Exercises

I need suggestions. I LOVED working my abs when my gym had a decline ab bench...I'd work in reps in between other exercises daily & I had great definition. Now I'm at a really nice 24 hr fitness with nothing but an ab game that has you shooting a basketball..I'm not coordinated enough to tell when I'm supposed to shoot and what form I'm supposed to have...uggg..

Anyone out there with a great, simple ab routine? Please post.

Also, any opinions about exercises to narrow the waist. I'm already small, but I'd light to tone muscles that will give the appearance of an even thinner waistline.

Looking forward to replies...

I'm just speaking from my small amount of exp. But first abs are best done with your diet maybe, you should try eating more often, but you never posted you diet. Second there are many routines you can look for videos online. Third you need to explain what you want you abs to do, whether you want to add size or just make them flat. There are a lot of guys on here who have different views on abs, everybody is different. But back to your original question. You can do whatever abs exercises you can find, just remember keep you sets very close in time and exhale while coming up, it gives you abs better contraction to hit every muscle. And remember it's a core work out so your back is also a essential part of abs and thining out your waist. Good luck man

You can use the basketball to your advantage. Hold it near your head and do crunches/situps, planks, side planks, bicycle kicks while weaving the ball thru your legs, <--- one of my favs! And hold the ball above your head and do side bends. Those are enough to give anybody a decent routine...

Just something to keep in mind, when I am trying to slim my mid section I stay away from working obliques, because when your obliques grow they grow OUT and it gives the appearance of a wider middle.

side bends with heavy weight, side planks for 2 mins or longer, crunches with lateral flexion, windsheild wipers, swiss ball oblique crunch, wood choppers......there's many more.
