What are the female figure and fitness girls competing at body fat wise? Im 11.5-12% with three weeks to go. Is that low enough?! do I have enough time! Im getting nervous! :flamingma

They don't measure your bf% on stage so it doesn't matter what matter is how you look.
Agreed. If your bodyfat is currently 11-12%, I can't imagine that you will have a problem being ready in 3 weeks. :)

I know what matters is ' how you look'. I just feel like I still dont have enough definition. I figured being at 11.5 bf I'd have more definition. And its not that I dont have enough mass Its probably just that I need to be lower. Is it just those last few days you really have the cuts?

Personally, I like to be close to stage shape 3 weeks out, so no guesswork is involved. But I have also always been natural. Do you have any pics you can post???

at 11.5% it is hard to believe you would lack definition. i would like to see some pics as well. how was your bf% measured? btw, best of luck to you; competing is hard work!

I agree Minx. I'm not sure how low Madine's BF% was at her last comp, but I know she was pretty damn lean (Yummy!!).

Figure8 - If you used calipers to measure you know those things can be wayyyyy off based on the person doing it? plus or minus 5% can mean a big difference in your last weeks before a show.

I also agree that if you THINK you aren't defined enough, than you prolly are NOT, and you may need to re-evaluate from there.

Either way, post some pics and let's see if there is any advice we can offer to help. But like Jul said, at 3 weeks there isn't a whole lot you can do to make significant changes, but some things can be done.

My bf was measured under water thats the only way Ill way I do it. My lean body mass was 127LBs and I has 18 Lbs of fat which brought me to 12.9% That was 3 weeks ago. Ive come down since then so Im guessing Im at 11.5 % now. Cause Ive lost 2.5-3 lbs since then. Ill take a pic and try to post it. I have no idea how to transfer images from my digital camera to the computer.

Hey figure8...

Everyone has said what i was gonna say...

Jul made a very valid point... basically you sould be close to ready 3 weeks out... However shit happens and we tend to crash coarse it lol..

Hey.. that is exactly what i am doing right now!!! I am gonna jump in a show in 3 weeks :) Nov 12th. And my big ole fat ass is not where it needs to be lol... i think the only advantage i have on your is that i know my body extremely well and exactly how it responds...

One key thing i need to ask is how much water are you consuming??? You should be at at least 1 gallion a day.. at least! You need to water deplete and that can not be done if you have not water loaded!! Also, you may not be seeing definition due to water retention if you are not drinking enough or how are your salts?? Are you vascular? At 12% i have veins everywhere and pretty decent cuts...
at 10% my abs are in and i look pretty cut up.. under 10% and i am in contest shape and dry... I personally don't like being under 10%, but conditioning is what is winning figure shows lately... so, ya give em what they want :)

hope you can post a pic! Stay focused, drink your water... and don't stress too much!

Looking great Figure 8 (sorry for the rhyme). Legs and midsection look really good and tight. IMO, the only fat i see that may be deceiving is in the arms, but it is not something that is crazy. As for the BF%, i can't really tell. How's the back look? Holding any water in the glute/hammy tie-in? Or maybe the lower back? Hard to tell really but you have a very nice shape to ya!

when i competed i was down to around 7% but i agree with what everyone else says. I didnt pay much attention to the number, just to what i looked like

HOW DO U DO IT! I CANT GET DOWN THAT LOW. THAT IS SOO LOW! WHAT IS YOUR CONTEST SCHEDULE/DIET LIKE. I'D LOVE TO KNOW.

my last show I was doing double 45 min sessions. This time I tried a new style of cardio called max ot. It 16 min super intense cardio, you go as fast as you can for 16 min. it workes real well. I was doing that twice a day. I just deceided to change it up. The max ots worked better than the 45 min sessons my metabolisim slowed way down doing that. Im running twice a day 35 min now. to put in a nutshell ive been changing what i do as often as possible to avoid a plataeu.

Sounds good. Prior to competition, I try to do as much as 3 hours of cardio a day to help me get below 10%. Like you, I try to keep it switched up. I usually do HIIT in the morning and lower intensity at night. Just a thought. Can't wait to hear how you do at your show! Good luck...Jul :)
