OK i am by no means a big or strong guy--just your average gym rat.

Tonight on squats i was doing 405lbs for sets and (its a typical 45lbs bar) and for some reason the bar is bouncing alot through the reps---

I was thinking (jeeze its not even that much weight) could it be a old worn out bar?

I never thought about it but it was pissing me off--is this normal?
If anyone can chime in w\there experiences that be great.

Thanks

405lbs ? wow you must be a skinny little guy huh ?

yes, i thought the same, if i see you squatting with that light weight i would love to grab the bar and kick your ass , unfortunately i cant even pick it up from the floor.
LOL

btw... the 45lb bar never bended from the weight i lif, dont know what to say.
good luck

thanks guys---yeah i think its just a shit bar and i have to deal with it---

Going to be focusing on that 500lb squat and deadlift :-)

gym bars will bend at that weight and ive seen them break when squatting in the 600s . when squatting with a whippy bar timing is important , if the bar whips down just as your coming out of the hole it can bury you lol .

I lost 700 lbs off my back in a meet because the whip of the bar was not timed. Be careful, i routinely have to explain to kids to stay away from our deadlift bars when they squat for that very reason.
