Bench Box Check Plz

a little high, but not bad. I would want to sit back more if i were you. Your knees are coming forward and then your sitting back it seems. I just watched it again, i don't watch myself too much, but i beleive my ass is going back before my knees break, you need to learn to break at the hips first.

sit back more????? I just noticed my knees coming forward..is that wrong?? x.x and break at hips first??? sorry..can't quite understand x.x

Correct me if i'm wrong guys, but your knees should never shift forward past your toes. This puts unwanted stress on the knees. You want to transfer the weight to your hips while staying as upright as possible.

well yes but it also matters how you are squatting
with a close stance its very very hard to keep the shins perpendicular

if you are box squatting there is no reason fro your shins to move over the toes/feet...in fact with a box actually it is much easier to have your shins move in teh opposite direction ( meaning they should move back rather than forward)

i bought this adjustabel box awhile ago and its by far the best thing i bought

True, but if he's using a bench for his box, his stance would be pretty wide. I see what you're saying though, a narrow stance is harder on the knees, at least for me it is.

That's a great tool BB, might pick one of those up.

How high is the bench off the ground? It does look a little high. In my gym, we have a small bench with tiny racks on it that I use...It's only about 12 inches or so off the ground. I tried squatting on a regular bench (looks simular to yours) and it just felt too high to me (I'm 6'2") I think the best thing you can do is build or buy a box.

No flat benches laying around there?

I guess they are cool cause powerlifters wear them.

Flat benches are too high for most box squatting, and powerlifters are not making a fashion statement wearing chucks. Take your fucking sarcasm back to the convo lounge.
