I haven't been on here in a while, but I've been a member for years, I was surprised my old login and password still worked!
Almost exactly 2 months ago I was cut off while riding my Ninja. I was riding straight ahead when some dumb girl in a Jeep cut directly in front of me. I flew into the side of the jeep, broke my femur in half on impact, bounced off, then damaged my rotator cuff when I hit the ground. It was pretty bad and I was in bad shape for a while after the accident.
I've gotten a lot better recently (the docs said my recovery is going well because I was in good shape before the accident) and I'm at the point where I can walk without crutches or a cane, but I'm still limping pretty bad.
When I broke my leg, they cut through part of my hip flexor and glute in order to be able hollow out my femur with a drill and put a titanium rod inside. The surgery, coupled with the fact that I didn't put any weight on my leg for over a month, has led to my glute and hip flexor being extremely weak on my right side. I saw the surgeon last week and he told me the reason I'm limping is because these muscles are still extremely weak.
I'm doing physical therapy for both my shoulder and my leg. The shoulder therapy consists of basic rotator cuff strengthening with bands. The leg therapy consists of strengthening my quad, hamstring, glutes and hips on my right side with various exercises including leg press, adductor machines, weighted leg raises, step ups, etc.
I've been out of the juicing game for a while, but I've recently come up on a source, and I was wondering if it would help my recovery if I took a little test and/or deca or EQ. I'm not really expecting it to help with the shoulder problem, but it might go a long way towards helping me get the muscles in my leg stronger as soon as possible so I can get back in the gym
Because I fucked up my shoulder, I haven't been able to do any upper body lifting either (even DB curls would hurt because my shoulder was too weak to stabilize the dumbbell while curling), so I'm a lot weaker than I would like to be. My physical therapy has helped my shoulder to the point where i can now do things like curls, pulldowns (but not pullups, that still hurts), and rows so I'm making progress. I might just save the juice until both my shoulder and leg are closer to 100%, but would starting it now help me get back in the game more quickly?
I'm going to do some research on this but if you guys have any links or advice it would be greatly appreciated. I've been totally out of the gym for 2 months now and it's killing me.
