Cheat meals When Competiting

i can't imagine not even being allowed EFA's.. i understand they are very important in the fat-loss process and our general well-being.

MM... up until the last two weeks, i was instructed to have 1-2 cheat DAYS a week. morning and evening meal were clean.. all meals in btwn were my pick.. i just couldn't eat to the point of STUFFING myself. i was told these cheat meals were important.. i wasn't supposed to pick clean foods, but actually foods like lasagna, pizza.. things like that.

the photo is me.. my second show, november/06. weighed in at 126lb... don't know my BF% there, but yeah, it was low. i had more problem with water retention than losing fat.. but seems to be a trend for me.
 
Since week 14 the diet and training are as follows:
meal 1 - 8 egg whites, 4 large rice cakes
meal 2 - 8 ounces of chicken breast, 4 rice cakes, 1 isolate shake
meal 3 - 8 ounces of sirloin steak, 1/3 cup of rice, 1 isolate shake
post workout - 8 ounces of chicken breast, 2 cups of broccoli
meal 5 - 8 egg whites, 1 shake

Also no diet pop, no juice no nothing that's not in the diet

Monday - Chest (all heavy) bi's
Tuesday - Legs (all heavy)
Wednesday - shoulders and tri's (all heavy)
Thursday - Back (all heavy)
Friday - Legs (medium to light weight)
After every workout I have to do 45 mins of cardio 3 degree incline at 3 MPH

I'm currently 183 LBS at 5' 4" and this like I said is my first show. I think the worst thing you can do though is not trust your trainner, like I told him last night I don't care about first in my division I want first overall, after seeing me last night he think I'll be on stage at 168ish. I just keep telling myself he knows what he's doing and if I don't follow it to a tee I can't blame him if it goes bad.

That's awesome girl! No cheats for this poor competitor! I like your coaches thinking.

Update.....I am back on fish oil pills! I voiced my concerns to my coaches and they believe any fats will make you hold onto more fat and water. I believe I need some though so I am taking the fish oils....against their wishes.....but I'm OK with that. I will deduct the calories from my carb count. And I have peace of mind also. So fish oil pills will stay in till closer till comp!

I'm surprised rice cakes are the carb of choice. I love them myself though.

I agree it's awful not to trust your trainer.....but if you don't you don't! At least mine keep their ears open to my concerns. There are many ways to diet for a competition....but everybody takes well to something different.....and alot of coaches are cookie cutter. I think yours as well as mine are cookie cutter.

We have to start somewhere! And we'll learn! I wonder why no diet pop or crystal lite......I know some people are against artificial sugars....but they seriously keep me sane!

I look forward to hearing more about your prep! Do you get any types of fat in at all?

The only fat I get is in the steak.

Do you get constipated alot? I was having that problem and my coaches told me it was because of no fat. They said for me to use Mineral Oil in my diet......0 calories. They also said it was common of their athletes.

BTW....I too have to do 45 min of cardio each day.
 
I go regulary once every 2 days but the weird thing is I feel fine with it now. Since I've started the Winstrol (winny) and uped the clen I cramp up trying to scratch my arm, he told me to add salt to my steak, the thing that really sucks is that when I practice my pose's expecially the back shot I seize up like an old engine without oil.
