"Cleaning" a needle with an alcohol pad??

So i did an injection today of test... now I opened a new syringe package to replace the needle that penetrated the vial and I believe I noticed a white spot or dust or something? I freaked out cuz syringes should 100% sterille PERIOD. so i cleaned the needle (except the tip) with a new alcohol swab to sterile the needle and injected it.Has anyone done this? is this ok?

Probably ok although don't extrapolate this into cleaning used needles and re-using them.

I honestly wouldnt touch the needle with anything. You could possibly leave a piece of cotton from the swab. Just get a new needle out if youre worried. theyre cheap.

I suppose if that was your only option, you should be fine. Just don't swab the thing for a long time, as you do risk getting cotton on the needle like the others said. And be prepared for it to sting a little bit more than usual.

Shit you got that right they certainly are cheap enough to play it safe should not even be a second thought. I will admit like alot of things i learned were to buy pins on line and they get to your house in just a couple of days. Before i joined this board i did have a problem getting pins so they were very valuable and I would re use them. I’m not proud of it but I happened to have some friends back home who were hooked on heroin and let me tell you these guys would re use the same pin so meany times it would blow your mind not to mention the word sterile did not exist in there vocabulary not that they shared pins cuzz they didn’t but still they would hide them outside and mix up there heroin in a bottle cap that they would pick up off the ground. I even seen 1 guy use water to mix his dope that he drew up from a puddle then shot it into his vain. So the point to this disgusting story is you will be surprised what it really takes to get infected so if your even half way careful and sterile you will be fine. I also know from these guys that did sheer pins and for obvious reasons (aids) alcohol does not sterile and kill all germs but what does believe it or not is bleach. But like TERSKAN said pins are way to cheep to even fuck around. I use so meany dam pins it’s silly. I don’t even reuse the same pin to draw from the vile I use a new pin for everything why not.
