Clomid Monotherapy or Clomid+TRT

Has anyone had any experiences on clomid monotherapy or using clomid as part of their TRT routine?

Can anyone tell me the possible positives/negatives on clomid? I'm a log time trt patient but my history is limited to test, hcg & arimidex.

Was on Clomid mono therapy for 2.5+ years. Raised my test from high 200's to low 500's/High 400. but after 2 years I got terrible low t symptoms even though my test was higher than when I started with less symptoms.

Then I went on TRT which was great.

I'm now on hcg mono therapy to try to induce spermatogenesis, but (I think) I've become desensitized to the hcg so doc wanted to put me on 1mg Adex/day. I refused so he put me back in Clomid 25mg/day in addition to the hcg. After a week I was crying and depressed so I stopped.

In my experience TRT is the way to go. I'll be back on test before the end of the month. Can't wait.

AI and hrt or clomid to try restart and see if they stay elevated, but to stay on clomid i would just go on hrt and accept that. if trying to have kids while on hrt sure some clomid and/or hcg may help. other than that i wouldent bother IMO

hcg + clomid is stupid. He also had you on too much clomid that's why you felt the sides. Did you monitor your e2?

Stupid for what?

I have no sperm in my ejaculate. I'm having surgery on my testicles and they will take a piece to see if there are sperm there that are not getting out. My doctor wants the best possible conditions for spermatogenesis, not for optimal t or e levels.

Please share with me your optimal treatment for my azoospermia.

HCG is an analogue of lh the same thing you are attempting to produce with the clomid. Please share with me the reason to use hcg if you are using clomid

With hcg only my test was at under 300. The doctor wanted me to go on Adex 1mg/day in addition but I refused, so he wanted to try Clomid to get my test numbers above 300 for a while for best possible sperm production. I think the Clomid was added to hcg to get my test bumped up a little bit for a short while but the sides were too bad.

I was on 25mg/day for over 2.5 years, so I'm not sure the dose was too high, like you stated.

I'm not an expert on fertility by any means, so I'm following doctors orders. Anyhow, I'll know in 2 weeks and then back on exogenous test.

You would have been better off with the hCG + AI in my opinion. I think your doc was right. This would have been more likely to increase your sperm count than what you are doing. hMG should be considered as well.

Unlikely to happen given that your HPTA feedback loop is still working to a large degree with just the hCG. hCG is suppressive, but it doesn't shut your HPTA down. You body would have compensated by making more testosterone unless you were taking too much hCG

Pre Clomid when diagnosed hypogonadal
214 ng/dL 249 - 836 ng/dL

Clomid 25mg/day after more than 2 years
416 ng/dL 249 - 836 ng/dL

I felt fine for the first 2 or so years then I got severe symptoms of depression, zero motivation, low energy, couldn't control my emotions. And the whole time losing any type of fat was really hard. These symptoms came while my test was in the 400's and while on Clomid. Recently my test was 137 with hcg and I feel much better than I do with higher test on Clomid.

Nothing beats TRT and I can't wait to pin my first dose in 12 days.

Did they ever look at your E2. High e2 as well as low e2 can make you feel like crap too

I'm 36. My e2 levels were in range.

If I had good natural levels I wouldn't be posting in the TRT section.

1. "I would never use your micro penis against you" Since my penis is attached to me and I don't let guys touch it I see no way this could be possible. If I did really have a micro penis and I put it under my avatar, how could you ever make me feel embarrassed if I am stating it on the forum??

PS- the ai use was to increase test levels. Has nothing to do with my e2 levels being out of range or affecting my health. "Lol"
