deadlift question

Lifting Student
I have a question about deadlifts. I am currently on pullinbig's workout in the do deads thicken the waist thread and have been seeing great gains. My question is about going heavy everyweek. I will go heavy on deadlifts each week, increasing the weight each week, but i read in another thread that going heavy each week like this will hurt my nervous system. Is this true? If it is should I go light every other week or should I try another lower back movement without going heavy. Thanks.

I also want to say this board is great, I am kinda new and learn shit here constantly, more than in any of those BBing mags

I have my opinions, but if you are on a specific deadlifting routine and it's working, stick to it. I am not real familar with PB's routine, so I can't really say.

I have pulled heavy every week in the past and made awsome gains, but, I ended up just having to make some changes to my routine after 8 or 10 weeks because I hit a sticking point, then actually lost some strength.

shortz is right, ride it til it quits working. once you hit a plateau hit me up and ill make a change or two for ya to keep ya moving.

the same with me, i started like 8 weeks ago, prior to pulling from the floor i did SLDL's at around like 185-195. when i went back to pulling from the floor, i went heavy and did 275 for 4 out of nowhere and i never even did that before. i remember doing 225 for 4 reps right before that and that felt hard. now i warm up with that for 5 and can keep going. but i hit a sticking point on heavy sets around 275+...at the bottom. and i need to bring my hams down right before i pull. so basically more lower back and ham work is needed, including abs. its obvious because i dont do those muscles much. so back to SLDL, and will do GMs for the first time and start doing abs twice/week.

I did dls every week for several months(lifting real heavy too) and just kept making gains. I just now finally hit a plateau as of last wk. Thinking about doing 5x5 or another program for em. Also might start switching up dls one wk and sldls the next. Just have fun making gains. Switch up when u hit a plat.

I made great gains deadlifting every week, until i got in the 500's. From that point on i had to specifically work weak points and attack the dead from different ways. Most people who are new to deadlifting will get stronger for along time just deadlifting. Like these guys have said, when you hit a sticking point, that is when it is time to find out what else to do.

Your right man good board but you some arrogant individuals on here. Trust the advicwe from the big boys, pullinbig, spartie, jcp2, BB, house 1 and SC is knowledgable. Dont let some get to you they got little man syndrome. At any rate Ive been doin the same routine for almost two month's and the deads and squats every week have caught up to me. Im doin deads every oher week and incorporating hyperextensions to help strenghten the lower back. Be careful squattin and deadliftin every week.
