why everyone tells that i should keep the weight on my heels during deadlifts, squat or rdl ? is there any reasoning behind this? why not to push with whole feet, not only heels?
Dead lifts can be thrown into 2 beliefs, which is back or legs. The idea of pulling from your heels is to focus on your posterior chain. Squats you never want to be on your toes! On the downward motion you actually push your knees out, get in the hole, and press up almost with the outside of your feet keeping your heels down. Get on your toes and you'll hurt yourself...
I heard you can mess up your Achilles tendon from driving with your toes. You can tweak that shit. You just want to put more weight towards your back. Think of where your femur turns into your shin which turns into your foot...it's all one straight line...you want to push with that straight line.
pushing off on your heels activates your hamstrings and glutes(which u want), and uses your hips as the joint bearing the heavy load(so it wont fuck up your knees).
other wise all the stress is being put on your kness(not good), and works out mostly just your quads
