DHT and gains

does any one know why some one wouldnt fully feel the androgenic affects they should have. could it be they dont pick up the dht well. for example i feel like i have a low sex drive before juice and now i just feel like normal.

Certainly, it's very possible that without the juice, your DHT is low. Of course, it is probably quite the opposite when you are on the juice.

To be honest, I think you are the first persoon I have come across that uses DHT gel (Andractim). Do you have little facial hair growth, and are you hoping that the Andractim will help that problem?

Yes, I try to increase my facial hair using a topical Andro. It's much more effective (theoretically) than using Andractim or Andovit in whole body in order to become systemic (blood spread).

It makes sense the low testosterone would lead to low DHT, since the 5alpha reductase enzyme in the body converts some of the testosterone to DHT. However, I suppose that it is also possible that you lack adequate amounts of the enzyme. Did you happen to get your testosterone and DHT checked prior to starting the topical DHT gel?

If you testosterone is a bit low, then a transdermal testosterone gel (e.g. Androgel) will generally do a good job at raising both the testosterone and the DHT. The DHT goes up mostly because the skin contains significant amounts of the 5alpha reductase enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT.

Yes, the one possibility is that 5AR enzyme is limited. With Andractim I tried to bypass the conversion process from T to DHT by feeding directly to the follicles pure DHT. The other possibility-theory is that more T is needed because T drives to hair thickness. My problem is that I have much baby-fine-vellus unpigmented hair on my face that is not getting to adult-terminal pigmented facial hair. Minoxidil also did not helped. Finally my T and DHT blood levels are normal and just to mention that during Andractim treatment (face topical only: 4 months) my DHT levels were more than the double of the maximum normal level. So at that level treatment worked with side effect low T levels (below minimum normal) and also low LH, FSH (expected due to negative feedback)!! Any ideas and information is much appreciated. Thank you/George

My expierence with Propecia

I have done a few cycles, in the past few years and i have been taking Propecia for about the past 5 years. I cant say for certian that finasteride has hindered my gains. But i will say that i have always gained about 15lbs on all of my cycles. Perhaps i could have gained 20lbs with out the finasteride, but the hair i saved is much more important to me than 5lbs.

The only sides i saw with propecia are slight lack of sex drive (takes a while to cum) but not problems with erections. And gyno can become a problem with the reductions of DHT, but they have a pill for that too...Haha! :afro:

Interesting I have low test/LH/FSH but hair literally all over my body thin hair on my head and coudl probably shave twice a day. If DHT was causing negative feedback then woudl saw palmetto or proscar help bring my test/LH/FSH levels back up?

Detroit,

I think 5 years in Propecia are too many!!! You mentioned the problem with sex drive. Always there is a possibility of further implication as your age increasing and your body looses the opportunity to recover from the use of an external substance like Propecia. I do not know if it is advisable to make cycles similarly to steroid users!!! My case is exactly the opposite: I received externally DHT, so may a local DHT inhibitor like Xandrol (Minoxidil for scalp mixed with an anti-DHT agent) could compensate locally (scalp area). I suppose that you take a pill per day. It sounds bad to me to make that for my rest of life just for cosmetic reasons!!!

FunnyMonkey,

negative feedback does not work like you imagined. If T is high then DHT is normally respectively high as well as a deritive of T, but if DHT is high (for example using a DHT gel) then that suppress T/LH/FSH etc. So, Propecia limits the DHT but this does not result an increase of T because DHT is a deritive of T, and in that case T is metabolized to estrogens or in other words DHT is downgraded to less effective forms.

Please pass me more info on Propecia hair results. Did you see considerable scalp hair change? Did you notice any change in facial or body hair?

Bye-Cheers/George

One will have a hard time picking up chicks with a bald head. That's for most of the guys. Some can get away with a bald head.

Propecia dramatically reduced body hair for me. Test dramacially increases body hair for me.

I am now 35 and i have kept my hair by simply using rogain and test...test seems to put hair on my head and estro seems to make it fall out. I have done over a gram a week for 15 weeks and had NO problems with my hair line...

My first cycle was 200mgs/week, i didnt have hairline problems when i was on but i did when i came off and my estro was high and test low...so ive been on ever since and love it.

I've been using propecia off and on for about a year. I'm in my 20's and haven't noticed a lower sex drive yet, nor have I noticed a drop in gains while on a cycle. I have noticed that the propecia did make my hair thicker. i was wondering what you guys thought about taking propeica while taking D-Bol, I've read that its pointless to take propecia with D-Bol. So would it be best to stop taking propecia for the 3 weeks I'll be taking D-Bol or just keep taking both?
