Hi,
Well, my insurance company does not want to deal with Gordon so I had to go back to my regular doc and he'll only give me Androgel 1.62. He does not want to give cypionate whatsoever. I made the argument about the price ($350 vs $$60) and complained to the insurance company and they said they'll cover it so I'm stuck.

Is this good or should I shop around and keep looking for another doc? How do I even dose this thing. It's a pump.

I was reading that I should take 2 pumps and apply them to my shoulders. The doc gave me 4 refills and said to see him in 2 months. He didn't give me any dosing instructions.

How should I do this?

Thanks

2 pumps will do nothing....
Starting dose is 4 pumps...
the first 2 pumps out of the bottle are discarded.
Walk from this doc...
Inject are best!
You have to shower everyday at a consistent time...then apply gel....wait for it to dry....then get dressed for work e.t.c.
and after it dries it leaves a white dry mark under your forearms. Much of a drag....
but if it's all you got use it..till u find another doc.

Tell your doc that you are around women and children on a daily basis at home. Tell him that you will not risk transferring the androgel to them. Tell him it would be irresponsible to use this in your situation. Tell him it is injections or you will be forced to look for a doctor that "does no harm".

I tried to tell him that I have a wife and daughter and I don't want them growing beards and he said to just spread the gel on and put on a t-shirt. Then I wash my hands and they'll be fine.

This guy is totally against injections. I'll keep looking for a new doc in the meantime.

Definitely look for a new doctor.

That is an ethical infraction. You can report this bozo for this type of behavior by the way. RUN don't walk from this jackass. It's not like you couldn't obtain supraphysiological levels of testosterone from androgel anyway - he's just in it for the money as he gets a kick back from the pharma company that makes it. Shit should be illegal to allow a physician to operate in that manner.

He's playing God with your life and body. He's deciding what is best for you.
The Andro won't absorb thru most areas of the body...it is really effective up and down the entire length of your inner arm because the skin is thinner there...also inner thighs have thin skin...
The Gel needs at least 15 mins to dry before putting on a shirt.
Walk!

Believe it or not that G.P. doc of mine was telling me to use AndroGel...but he would not prescribe Clomid...
WAY MORE MONEY involved with Androgel than some generic clomid.
I always said these guys look after themselves more than their patients. You hinted at it too.
lol
Go figure!!!

I've just been through the hoops myself man. It's really quite sad that we have to do so much homework for something as simple as restoring proper hormone levels. You can thank big pharma and the "War on Drugs" for that shit.

What pisses me off the most...is that theses type of Doc's control our well being. A G.P. can pull the plug on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) if they are bias toward it...if they never prescribed it initially...
Look what that fellow said in the other threads about his testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doc being in jail and the personal assistant of the clinic not prescribing anything..
These people have total control of our well being.

Well, that's where doc shopping comes into play. prudens definitely has his work cut out for him, but if he can move on - he'll be FAR better off. Like I've said before, most docs are pretty lazy when it comes to medications, so having your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) restored by a new GP shouldn't be a huge issue unless you make a mistake like admitting to abuse or popping high consistently on a blood panel. Those kinds of notes can follow you around. ;)

The ONLY benefits I see to Androgel are:

-Consistent Daily Stable Blood Levels of T
-Scar tissue in muscle won't be a problem for those who prefer IM shots...which are best cause the drug enters your system faster!

Well,
My doc drank the Kool-Aid.

He said that he will not give me cypionate because it can cause liver cancer. I asked how is that possible? He then told me to look at the Androgel site and it's right there at the bottom of page 8, Section 5.6:
rxabbvie.com/pdf/androgel1_62_PI.pdf

Oh well, time to find a new doc.

LOL, and he thinks the testosterone delivered in androgel is somehow different than that found in an esterfied oil? YEP, time to find a new doc that doesn't have his hand in Abbvie/Abbot's pocket.

Bottom line...you are paying the Doc for a service. You are free to chose another doctor. Check your area for Holistic Doctors. Call and ask ahead of time if they prescribe Test shots if blood shows low T. Be prepared to come in informed. Now be careful though...you don't want to come in sounding like you know just enough to be dangerous. Tell him of your bad results with the gel and tell him of how you know of other men (here if need be) who have used the shots and prefer it and have excellent results. Remember though..... T is for life. Good luck.

I found anohter doc that does both gel and injects. He also does AI's and HCG.

I'm meeting him next week so I'll get an opinion from him

Thanks

When i was on the hunt for a doctor, i would call there office and ask do you do test injections. Ask how the doctor feels about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) injections my uro started me at 200mg weeky and said if i need more to let him know. I think ill hold tight at 200mg. Maybe in a few months ill ask him to bump to 500mg a week for about 12 weeks. Cost $10.00 a month with insurance and $32.00 a mont for test.
