Does creatine loose its effectiveness??

I've been taking creatine mono for many months now, and almost feel its not working as well. Is that just me or can creatine actually loose some of its effectiveness if 1 takes it for prolonged periods of time w/o a break?? Or is it perfectly fine/effective if taken yr. round??

I haven't read anything to suggest that it loses it's effectiveness over time. I've been on cre 24/7 for a couple years now and I haven't had any problems.

It doesn't loose its effectiveness. Creatine Supplementation is creatine supplementation. You just get use to its benefits

Yup, as Dominace said. You dont need to cycle creatine, but if you feel like you want the kick in the start, then cycle. Personally i´m always "on"

I use creatine often, but people, if u r taking creatine whole year without making a break, of course effect is gone... its better to take it 2 months on and 2-3 weeks off.

i took creating for long time, Loved it when i first started it, But my water retention was through the freakin' roof! so i cut it out. I am happier off it. Some guys love it. You don't need to come off it, You can stay on it as long as you wish, and no i don't feel it loses it's effectiveness. But if you don't eat or consume it after training, I find it's useless.

I usually take 5 g before and 5 g after.
For some reason i don't really retain any water weight(even w/mono). Have some friends that gain as much as 15lbs w/mono and dextrose. Its unreal. I guess my body doesn't respond to it that way.

If you have used creatine many times, it just doesn't work anymore. It's the same with alcohol. The first you ever drank you get wasted from a couple of beers. When you drink regularly, you need lots and lots more to get the same effect.

When I first took it a couple of years ago I gained like 8lbs and appeared much much fuller. When I take it now I don't notice ANYTHING. No weight gain, no better pumps, no more stamina or whatever. I took Swole V2 once a while ago also, that kinda did work actually. Next week I'm gonna start Creatine Ethyl Ester. I heard some great things about that.

I suggest the new Ethyl Ester creatine, I haven't heard anything but raving reviews about it so give it a try.

I've read zero proof that creatine loses it's effectiveness over time. I'd like to see you guys show some proof of that. Your muscles are either saturated with creatine or they are not. I don't get how that's going to change just because you've been on cre for a long time.

Everyone that says creatine loses its effectivness needs to pull their heads out of your ass. It doesn't work that way.

Biceps Blitz - how can you suggest something without trying it!!!! Just because someone on a internet board says its good all of a sudden means you have the personal experience to give it a thumbs up-

Well do you have scientific data to support your view? I talk from personal experience, and I say that it doesn't work at all after having used it 3 or 4 times. The first and second time I used it I had great gains, but after that there was no response... So I must have my head stuck up my ass?

LOL yeah well it's called enthusiasm my friend;)
My nutrionist recommends it, and I've heard nothing but good things about it. Well I should be recommending it because I haven't used it (yet), but oh well.

No, the reason you didn't have any response before is probably because you were already getting enough creatine from your diet. You get most of your creatine from your diet. So if you are already getting quite a lot from your diet, then adding cre supplementation won't do much.

Do you know how creatine works? Saying that it stops working after a while is like saying that your body stops being able to make as much ATP from the food you eat after you've been eating food for a while.

Getting in enough from the diet... Are you kidding? You'd have to like 5lbs of red meat to get in 2 grams of creatine...

I know how it works, and I also know that the body can shut down. Same thing as with test... The body gets used to it and stops producing it.

Biceps blitz your body does not shut down the storage of creatine - It only can hold so much and after that the rest is history.

Test shuts down because it has a negative feedback loop - Creatine has none.

I used to believe that too, but how then can you explain the whole point of this thread? That it just isn't effective any more after having used it a couple of times.

I didn't say its lost its effectiveness after a "couple" of times. I've been "on" for over 1 yr now...creatine mono, V12 turbo, creatine mono, satur8, creatine mono, Fizogen Blitz cycle, creatine mono. Thats how its been this past yr and it just seemed this last time around I wasn't seeing quite the results as i was before but maybe its cuz i went from blitz cycle back to plain ole mono....i dunno?? Maybe i'm just getting used to it and have forgotten what its like 2 be w/o it?? I do know though, i'm not as good a responder to it as lots of people r. Just thought i'd ask your guys opinions. Thanks

Blitz you have no understanding of the body do you- I might suggest you get a few books on Anatomy and Physiology and read up.

Then again you questioned the effectiveness of Dante, put down others farther along in the sport. So i'm not suprised by this one either.
