I love you meatheads for being so damn objective. I know we have some puritans on this messageboard but nonetheless you guys compose some very well thought out responses

Weed lowers your immune system, and so does lifting heavy. The combo of the two fucc'd my shit up last year so I had stop smoking.

Yea...because a drug that increase Ghrelin by 40+%, the MAIN appetite stimulating hormone in the body, is going to be awesome at burning fat and helping people diet right? LOL

To quote 3J:
But hey, what do I know, I only do this for a living :)

lol... when rip is right, he's right...

i know a few people who partake in the green and stay skinny.. dunno how the hell they do it.. but they are the exception to the rule..

if youre going to live the life of a bodybuilder you have to make sacrifices... drugs like this should be a no no... esp with the effects it has on natty t levels.. sex drive.. sperm count.. blah blah blah.. the list goes on..

Me too, I cant figure out how they can stay so skinny when they ingest THC all day and night, and they eat like crazy. High metabolism, Genes, I guess.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if cannabis use increases ghrelin (hunger hormone) production, wouldn't this be beneficial to GH production? GH production is regulated by ghrelin is it not? I'm not saying it will cause a huge spike, but just based on this it certainly doesn't seem like it would suppress it.

It's likely that they really only hit 2000 calories a day and it just seems like a lot of food to us people.

Eating packs of powdered doughnuts, cereal, and chips.. are literally nothing.. It's like 150 calories a pop, 150 per baggy of chips, 200 per doughnuts. We on the other hand eat very calorie dense, healthy food. Meat and Potatoes > Doritos and Mtn. Dew sir.

Food for thought ;_)

munchies and 'the giggles' are for cannabis using newbies.. I think the whole "munchies" thing is a bit blown out of proportion and sensationalized, especially by people who don't partake and rely on urban legend and hollywood movies for their views on cannabis usage.
is appetite stimulated, sure, sometimes,, also depends on the strand of the cannabis plant itself, with varying strains having different effects.

BUT , a 'study' (yeah one of those things that everyone uses as some sort of proof, even though studies are like assholes and everyone has one),, found that occasional marijuana users were healthier (diet wise) and had a lower BMI and had less risk of obesity and diabetes then people who do not partake.
Study: Marijuana Users Less Vulnerable To Obesity, Diabetes | The Daily Caller

So there may be something to what Juiced Porkchop is saying about cannabis use and 'fat loss'.. I've got more reason to listen to someone about cannabis use that actually uses cannabis and has taken the time to look into it, just like I have more reason to listen to someone about AAS use that ACUTALLY uses AAS (hint hint rip,, i.e., if your still the hypocrite that talks a big talk about AAS use but has never taken the plunge himself).

Note: and I'm not a recreational partaker of cannabis,, I've used it legally for a medical condition I no longer have, and thus no longer use it.. but the negative myths and falsehood and scare tactics about its use should be thrown out the window (including the munchies and your going to get fat and eat a lot if you partake myth)

I'd have to say I wholeheartedly disgree... I smoked cannabis chronically for about 9-10 years and the appetite stimulating effect NEVER went away for me. Probably a large reason why my bulks always turned 'dirty' and my cuts always failed lol.
Since I've cut it out I've actually never been leaner.. and I'm staying that way :d

Everyone's different I spose, I'm sure it doesn't effect some people as much but I'd have to say the majority absolutely would.

you see it as "exception to the rule" when in fact its the stereotype your have had handed to you repeatedly that has you thinking it must be exception to rule... and that ofcourse some would fall in to it and just reinforce the stereotype, but a weak will or someone with deep issues should not blame it on any plant or activity, it could have been..... ill just stop and say in reply to your post>

differing strains actually make up alot of variances in affects. iv researched and have exp with many strains (dont let the silly names fool you, at the base of it it actually matters and plays a big role in effects)
so i have to ask if you picked and tried specific strains or just got what ever guy had type of thing.
most off the guy would be indica due to its shorter flowering time and higher yield its optimal for most growers, and i find give the most hunger. the kush or bubby or all those. i tend to do best with hybrid and sativa.
people do vary i dont argue that, bu if you keep changing your strain tolerance doesnt build up well because the terp and cannabanoid make up can differ GREATLY strain to strain (and there is ALOT of them, thc is just one kid in the class), almost as if not even same compound. the markers/levels the body gets used to from one strain differ to the next alot of the time and some will hit peeks the other was not and vise versa, and if using a strain that hit hunger more then its a combo to not ever getting over the "munchies" . "THC" talk is the most basic and not important when it comes to this plant..... its one peace to a big puzzle of peaces. yes mot mental active, but the roles of the others (which also effect the thc itself) are so wide.... its hard to really put into a simple thread to make sense or be worth time when others havent done the research or are close minded (think the noob that wants to do oral only and your trying to open their eyes, thats the mood right here)

but i digress : )

didnt dorian yates say in an interview that he smoked joints??? id be more worried about the crap they put in water than weed

What is the truth about this? Does increasing Human growth Hormone levels aide in the recovery?

The truth is.. if you worry about what happens to your body while smoking weed, it's not worth smoking weed.

If someone cares so much about hormone levels.. why are they interested in weed anyhow? Seems like a waste of energy, time, and money especially.

I don't know about GH increasing recovery rate.. I would imagine it would to an extent. It's well known to keep skin, nails, hair, bone, tendons, ligaments, and muscle tissue tip-top.

What result do you want? Marijuana is a miracle drug. It does not lower your test like you think or gh. Question is what is your reason for consuming the plant

waste of money to take something that prevents cancer? kills cancer? easis mood or pain ? helps with a host of mental or physical issues for many?
far from a waste.

what happens to your body smokign weed please tell me. ? look into lung research, even that is showing positive signs EVEN when smoked... its not tobacco. though i agree vaping is best IMO.

im on cycle or on hrt and even if i wasnt ( or when i wasnt when younger) cannabis is not the criminal. eating crappy will hurt your T levels more than anything ( aside from hormone use ofcourse)

its more of a supplement to me, others may not see it as i do, and not to sound conceded but i doubt many around here have done the extent of research on cannabis as me, as its my nature and what I have done with aas and peptides etc.

its good to ease tension after workout, or can help hunger. some like it to work out but for me i prefer not to, unless pain is bad.

it sounded crazy to me 15 years ago, and likely still sounds crazy to many of you now, but WEED IS GOOD FOR YOU IN MOST CASES... WEED CURES OR TREATS MANY ILLNESSES FACT!. i know i know a cure all seems liek bs, but they got this one right, people just dont want to hear it or that they have been wrong about it.

anyways to each his own. i have nothing much to prove, more research is comming out and more norm and real out look on it and in 5 or so years remember me when your like "ohh shit, i did brush this off more than i should have"

if you have the personality that it makes you a lazy ass or paranoid, stay away from it, like someone that doesnt do well with gambling or drinking. only diff is there is actually alot of good stuff to this plant and it sux to miss out on that long term.

fk killing cancer, aim to prevent + it has neurological protective properties, but i wont get started on that haha or everyone will just skip my big wall of text.

Eating it vrs. smoking it? which would give you better results?

depends on reasons for using it AND genetics/personality . I personally prefer to vape or smoke it, why? It doesnt last long and i have more control over the levels and like to micro dose rather than have alot at once. also i find i feel uneasy when I have eaten it. I am more comfortable with inhalation for my needs (migrains, back pain, rheumatoid arthritis, and mild anxiety at times)
others may prefer to eat it and not have to think about it for the next 3-4 hrs. or maybe they are fighting cancer and in my opinion the best way is to consume oil extracts orally in multiple doses a day to build up levels in body as high as possible over time without being too "medicated" and i have seen most research with positives in cancer killing outcomes to be from people taking it by mouth. but vaping or smoking it will help too.

if you mean by "better" as in buzz. it could go either way, but i guess eating it. it will be much more heavy in the body and last a long time.
