Dr. Wants to put me on Lipitor WTF

No.

Look. Drug reps give out drug samples. And they give out stuff that advertises the drug name: soap dispensers, plastic cups, pens, clipboard, et al.

But the drug companies would be fucking stupid to give out cash money. And there is no evidence that they do ... if there was, you better believe the media would be all the fuck over it.

If any of you have evidence as to otherwise, then please report it to the police and the media.
Actually this was on the media a while back :) I tend to remember stuff like that.

Forget it been eating steamed rice and parboiled white talapia / chicken broth for last

So what wont kill you cholesterol levels my HDL was 10 LDL was 218 total was 256. Im not sure if I'll even be accepted for a govt job with this. I didnt fast and I have access to diazide and chelesterol meds that I could load up on.
Do you think this would make them turn me down?
Do you think taking diazide, cholesterol meds, and fasting get it where it needs to be??
What Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) are OK to take that dont destroy HDL and LDL??? I guess prop and fina are no good

All Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) will effect your cholesterol, but Winstrol (winny) is by far the worst for most.

Its not as open as that but its in the doctors best intrest to promote a certain brand. They always throwing samples at you even if you dont need them, and also have a particular drug they like to prescribe all the time. An example is when I go to one doctor she would always unload the same exact samples on me saying"I might need them later" even after I told her I still have a bunch left from when she gave me last time, and as far as scripts go she had one favorite drug she would write out no matter if I had a cold, flu, or an ear infection. If I asked for a differant drug I knew worked better for me from a differant doc she wouldnt budge for shit. When I go to a differant doc he has his favorite set of drugs and does the same. One time I asked for some generic vicodin for my ear infection, I mentioned a name I knew, he would insist on a differant generic. I asked him why but he wouldnt give a stright awnser, if it made no differance to him why couldnt he write the name I mentioned.
Im sure something similar has happend to most of you. And if that doesnt convince you my friends wife is a general doctor, she told me that some (not all) doctors get some sort of commision on the side based on how well they promote samples they give out , also little things like paid trips so long as they agree to use this drug "A" made by them instead of "B" which another pharmecutical produces.

I think this has more to do with your doc being comfortable with a certain med that he/she prescribes regularly and less to do with any "kickbacks". I can tell you as someone on the inside that we receive nothing great from drug reps with the exception of lunches and occasional dinners after listening to some stupid lecture for a product that we usually won't even consider using after hearing about it. I will admit that in the PAST there were great kickbacks such as baseball tickets, golf outings etc.. this has all come to an end!! I wish you were right about the perks from drug reps but unfortunately MRANK is 100% right.

This would have absolutely nothing to do with drug reps as the reps no longer push meds once they become generic.

not entirely true, generics still compete with other generics. and its a large market.

generic labs have reps too, though obviously not as well funded.

O.k 2 words Am Gen- fed prosec looking into kickbacks to DR. Money no gifts. Look it up.
This only proves my point. A kickback is illegal. If you know of it happening, then please report it.

Paying a physician a few dollars to attend a boring seminar and a kickback are two very different things.

I have NEVER seen a generic drug rep. Although I guess it is possible for a generic drug rep to push to a hospital but that is not where the real money is (generic drugs).
