elbow/ forearm injuries while on cycle?

I always find this forum has most of the knowledge, so I'm here to ask about elbow and forearm problems during cycles. Obviously strength and weight amounts have increased, but rest does not seem to help the elbows and forearms. ive iced and applied heat to no avail.anti inflammatories as well.
does anyone have any other ideas. I don't respond well to light weights, especially during a cycle. anyone had any luck with massage therapy or physio for this problem?
thanks

Found a lot of tension in my forearms. But joint pain is common with winny:p Believe it or not, acupuncture helped a lot, as for my elbows just ice them constantly.

YO Harnold..

As an old fucker I find my elbow s forearms and shoulders go first..and my left one, forearm..usually always s hurt as that s my lover when Mrs T is not around or not complying...maybe your overworking them lololol

Teutonic, I'm with ya on the old fcker shit, I'm 45 not too far behind you. my shoulders keep me from doing flat bench, but I can train incline like a bastard...elbows just won't fcking heal, and when it's bad enough I don't even want to "pound the pope" it's getting pretty bad. :)
luckily it's my left elbow right now, and I'm a righty, so no strange stuff( left hand) for awhile I guess. :)

as for the elbows, sounds like tendonitis bro... I've had it off and on in both elbows for about 5 years now (outside of the right one, inside of the left one). I put A535 on them before training (makes me smell like I'm ready for a home), and ice them after training, this process has kept me going... for now ;)

tendinitis is a death warrent for bodybuilders...

usually happens from upping weight or taking on too much too quickly.. sound familiar to those of you who cycle and get a hard on increasing your max by two fold?? lol

Yep, I'm getting up there in age, around 42. Lots of miles on this body. Yep, shoulders hurt after and during flat bench. But my right elbow been killing me. Going to try icing it. I took a week off but once I got back it, it was still there.

Here's what works VERY GOOD for this old fucker...

Osteo Bi-Flex Triple Strength works like a charm which was recommended from my pharmacist.

I forget how long it took - but I want to say it took about two weeks.

CVS Pharmacy usually runs a buy 1 get 1 free every other week or so.

Just to let you guys know I picked up 2 boxes today from walgreens. It was $39.99, but on sale "buy one get one free". I'm not going to start using it yet because I want to know if the tb500 is at work without 2nd guessing what is helping. I'll have it on deck for after my tb500 run. Thanks for the recommendation.

I've learned this brother, time off does absolutely fuck all for my elbows, I think it may even get a little worse without any amount of blood flow in the areas. at least at my age that's what I've found. 45

I agree with this. I have bursitis in my elbows. It hurts right over the elbow bone. I can't do skull crushers anymore, but can do French press, dip machine and cable pushdowns pretty good. Maybe you just have to find what doesn't aggravate them too much. I also put on some neoprene sleeves that seem to feel good.

Also, They get aggravated by heavy rack pulls. I think it starts to dislocate them or something similar. Pushing exercises may be the easy one to blame, but may not be the culprit.

were on the same page bro, I use voltaren under an elbow wrap, actually it's a large size knee wrap in order to fit, but it didn't want to brag........lol........:)

thanks for the info, and I agree with your thinking on the causes. I love that hammer strength back row Dorian Yates uses, but I keep adding weight like a fcking idiot. great machine though...lol

I will purchase ingredients separately and report back after research

^ This so much this.

On a side note. Most of us consider "time off" being a week or two. When in reality time off = taking long enough off for the body part to heal. Now that isn't to say if something doesn't get better you should stay out the game for the rest of your life, but a week off is not adequate time to judge the situation when it comes to injuries. If you go to the gym after a week off and it still hurts then take more time off. Try a month, try two. If blood circulation is an issue then due very light physical therapy type exercises while you're in the "time off" phase. If those type of exercises are the bane of your existence then, try working out like you use to before you started cycling. Lower the amount of weight and reps dramatically.

Most who are truly living the life style can't imagine taking say 6 months off from the gym. It really is blasphemy. Just look at this thread. ***Not knocking it just making a point, I'm just as guilty***. It really does boil down to "workarounds" for the problem while continuing to lift. I recently took a ton of time off from the gym, not because I was being smart, just because I was being lazy. I spent what felt like a life time working out prior to steroids, so finally just saying "fu** the gym" felt really good, and incidentally it fixed a long time nagging shoulder / knee problem.

Not saying this will work or is the end all be all, I'm sure better answers are out there. just sayin is all...

edit: Just to add, yes I know some issues just won't be fixed and you have to work through them or find ways around the problem (medicine, different exercise angles / range of motion etc etc.)
