Forgot to rub alcohol

So I just did my 4th pin and right after I pulled it out I realized I forgot to rub alcohol before injecting. Does anyone else do this from time to time? Just wanting to know what the chances are that I pushed something in that's gonna cause an infection

Never done it. I make damn sure all my techniques are sterile. Never had an infection or any problems. Gotta pay more attention to what your doing

You'll likely be ok. Like Vino said pay better attention next time.

I use like 10 alcohol tabs for each injection, never missed it. Keep your eye on it, hopefully you'll be fine.

All kidding aside, it really depends on how dirty you are. We all have plenty of germs on us at any given time so I'm sure something got in there. Worst I have ever done is forget to wipe the vials and that was just once. Definitely need to pay attention.

During my first cycle I actually did that 1 time. Scared the hell out of me and never happened again. I guess I was lucky because no problems but man try not to do that again because infection can be really serious and there so preventable . I would always use two alcohol pads. 1 for the vial and one for myself.

If I where you I would make a check list that you physically check each part off before you do your injection. If some one does it for inventory at 7-11 its not to much work to do to make sure your injection site doesn't get infected. I would say sterilizing the area Is just as important as making sure you have oil in the syringe. And if you cant manage the first suggestion take a note from that song by Kendrick lamar called swimming pool full of liquor. Lol that's a joke don't try baithing in rubbing achohol than you will really fuck your injection up!

I forgot to wipe the vial once, no infection or anything. Got lucky i guess hopefully u do too.

Have a process down and repeat it in same order each time. That way you're less likely to forget something. Also, get away from distractions.

You should be alright bro. Dont worry about it to the point that it stresses you out. If you notice any unusual pain or discomfort in the area accompanied by redness or swelling I would then start to worry and head to a doctors office or find a place to get antibiotics. I do not recommend using antibiotics with out the supervision of a doctor. You need to ensure that you are using the right product and the right dosage. But again, I wouldnt worry about it just yet. Oh and you can always wipe the area now and keep it clean as a precaution.

Alcohol swabs are so cheap I use about at least 6 cause I'm so paranoid.

Unless you're like Pigpen there's no worries. I usually use an alcohol swab but it's no big deal at all if you don't. It's a minuscule chance of getting an infection. inmo.ie/MagazineArticle/PrintArticle/6696

This seems to state that it is not a big deal : Intramuscular injections - To swab or not to swab . I still swab of course. I guess most of the infections are caused by infected gear or needles, not improper cleaning of the skin at the pin point.

I am sorry but to me, that's just plain dumb. How does anyone forget the alcohol ? It's like forgetting to fill the syringe man. Just common sense. Need to be as clean and as sterile as you can. Like someone suggested, write the steps down if you can't remember...
