I am freakin lost I have tried everything and every variation of squats and leg presses that I can think of, I have never really made a big improvement in my squats in the 3 yrs I have been training. I have made improvements in my deads quit remarkibly but I ditched them becuase I read super squats and read how effective squats were. NOw my current squat routine is only 1 set of 20 reps every 10 days and I am getting weaker every week, I just dont understand it. IS it time I fuckin forget squats and start working my deads?
I am 6'4 with really long arms and legs and This is killing me not being able to make gains in my legs and back beucase I know that if I get that growing the rest of my body will follow, it is not happenning. Yes I am eating enough- I am getting fat but I am getting weaker at the same time, I am thinking about going to the Doc to get checked out as well- I t just seems I cant make gains in these past 3 months I have been gettin weaker. Time to start hammerin the 20 rep deads???

Any help

20 rep squats take a lot out of you man, I wouldn't recommend doing them every week

I understand your pain though, I have a weak lower back, so my squat doesn't go up as fast as I would like. I found doing really heavy squats for about 5-6 reps per set works. If I try to get more reps with the same weight, it's often hard, but if I try to get the same reps with more weight, I can usually do it

that is what I am thinking about Pullin BIg, the only thing is that I am 21 so I dont know of anyone that has ever had low test levels at age 21, LOL

While I am at the DOC is there anything else that I need to get checked??

I mean I have gone up on other excercises in the past but never my squat, and these past 3 months I have not gained on strength at all on anything. it seems some days I feel great and others I am half asleep the whole day regardless of how much sleep I got the night before.

check your form. are you squattin deep? also 20 rep deads is a little out of control!
Im 6 4 260 and have had a tough time with squats goin up as well. my deads are gettin very heavy. my squats are also goin sky high cause ive been goin deep and also workin on my core (hyper extensions). Keep pluggin away at 21 your test level should be fine. maybe it's psychological just get in cage with a spotter and squat deep scream and yell if you gotta i do.

How much you squat and pull for 5 reps?

get a comnplete blood work-up. including test levels. and its not uncommon for guys your age to have low test.

if you want pm your nutrition and routine to me and ill take a look at it and make a suggestion or two.

Form is solid, I mean last week I did 185 for 20 reps in squat and it wasn't too bad, this week I added 3lbs and it barried me- totally different.

I had worked my way up to 300lbs in the dead for 5 reps 3 months ago- dont know what it is now.

My dips and chins were my best lifts back then- I could hit 95lbs dips for 5 reps and chin 55lbs for 5 reps.

those dropped off alot when I swayed away and tried a different routine and now I am coming back to the old routine and I am not even being able to work up to my previous best max poundages, let alone new poundage territory.
I did chins last week with only my bodyweight and I only got 12 reps- UNbelievable dropp off from what it was

Well, 1set of squats wont do shit, especially at that high reps!

I suggest you do something like this:
4sets of ASS deep squats, 4-6reps
3set 90 degree squats, 4-6reps
3set Stiff legged dead lifts, 6-8reps
2set legpress 4-6reps

you should be able to do 4 but no more then 8 reps...

good luck.
