How do you hide your results?

This thread makes me excited as fuck to start my first AAS cycle in a few weeks. I have had people ask me if I am on steroids and I have always just laughed and said no. What cash said was really good; thats a great way to kind of help people not feel so negative about steroid users. If you come across as a dick, its just feeding the fire.

Otherwise I would just say no. People don't need to know the truth, since hard dieting and training mostly got you to where you're at.

You guys are going about this the wrong way...

When someone approaches me and asks "Do you use steroids?"

I look them dead in the eye and ask them "Why do you ask?"

Most of the time they will stammer around and say something like..."Well, because you are really big..."

Then, you look them in the eye again and say, "Thank you for the compliment. I work really hard at being fit."

By that point, they are on the defensive because you have put them on the spot with your answer but because you have just come across as a genuine and appreciative person they are still confused.

That is typically counter to their preconceived expectations of you based on appearance. They expect you to be a jerk or get defensive. Don't. It allows them to rationalize their judgement.

At this point, ask them if they lift and turn the conversation focus on them. I like to use this line....

"So, you lift too, huh? I can tell you have a pretty good build. How much do you bench?"

Again, don't allow yourself to get defensive. Be nice and focus on them. By this time, they have already decided you are a pretty decent guy and will typically say something to make themselves look good to you like "Yeah, I use to lift but I don't get too much time to do it now." Then you can compliment them again and say "Well, you are holding your weight well."

By then they will typically leave and think, "Wow, what a cool guy."

By following that line of conversation, I've never had a person persist with the "Are you on steroids" line of questions and they leave thinking I'm a nice guy.

I do this because I never lie and it works wonders for your perception.

fantastic response.. i now want someone to ask me

Yeah except you can't use that line on an 85 lb Asian female pre-med student...and you would make it quite awkward turning it into a situation where the student is paying you a compliment on your physical appearance.

There is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to go about this. If that makes you feel better about yourself, then do it that way.

Implying that I did it naturally by side-stepping the question and thanking them wouldn't do shit for me because I didn't do it naturally.

lots of good info. im running my first test cycle in a week or so...just waiting for some pinz to come in the mail.

It's a bit ackward getting accused of using...but I try to talk about proper lifting and diet techniques so whoever ask knows that you are educated about lifting. This way they think u just know what your doing

you don't have to be implying that you did it naturally, you are implying that it takes a lot to get to where you are, probably more than they've considered, and saying that you work extremely hard at it.

and you can phrase it differently as well, instead of saying thank you for the compliment (which shouldn't HAVE to make things awkward) you could just say something along the lines of 'thanks, i guess i'm doing something right then, because i'm working hard trying to get bigger!'

even so, small asian student or not, it should not necessarily have to get weird if you take what they say as a compliment.

The same goes with employees. You have to be really careful about what you say and how you say it. That's why I just say what I posted earlier. It's the truth, just not the whole truth. I'm not Catholic so I don't worry about Sins of Omission... :bootyshak

I'm speaking from experience, not speculation. In the past I've thanked students for complimenting the way I look, and they interpreted it as my being open to that sort of thing...next thing I know I'm out at a bar with friends and said student comes out of nowhere, grabs me, and kisses me. Of course, she was drunk. The worst part is that it was about half way through the semester, so that last half was um awkward.

I wouldn't dare tell a female student she's pretty - and it goes the other way. It's called professionalism.

i wouldn't tell a student she was pretty either. but if she asked me if i was on steroids and said it was because i looked really big, i wouldn't feel uncomfortable about telling saying thank you, those are two worlds apart in my book.

note, i don't teach in a classroom, but i have been part of coaching and training staff with women's athletics. in your case it sounds like an issue of immaturity on the girl's part, and things being awkward would suck, but it probably sucked the most for her and i'm not sure i'd get myself that worked up over it or do things differently the next time.

professionalism is defined in how you respond to situations like that. and you can accept a compliment, and even pull drunken woman off you in a bar and explain that isn't acceptable, in a way that shows that professionalism.

D

I like Cashouts responce! You can always just by a sumo suit and where that around all day!

Or do what I do give them the STINK eye start frothing at the mouth cause there taking up my Oxygen! Pretty affective!

It's hard to hide using from other users but as for the general public, creatine and protein powder works wonders on their own!

Yeah I use something similar, I just actually answer the question with a 'No' followed by 'I work really hard and eat almost 6k calories/day and I used to be this size' - which is all the truth sans the 'No'...and of course I don't ask the little Asian girls how much they bench lol.

My point was that everyone wasn't 'going about it the wrong way' because there is no right or wrong way, just what you choose to do.
