How do you pull 8s, 9s, and 10s

I think the best I've ever gotten was an 8.5, but I had to work my ass for that one. A lot of teasing, and a lot of waiting around.

How do you all build your confidence to talk to girls or do you just walk into a group with your shirts off and flex?!

Damn, usually I'm good at just starting random convos with people, like some chick the other day:

Me: LUCY!!!
Her: (looks my way but doesn't respond)
Me: (Looking right at her) LUCY! DO YOU REMEMBER ME?!
Her: Uhhhh. who are you, my names not lucy.
Me: .... OMG how could you forget, I totally saved you from getting beat up in 5th grade. Which School did you go to? Did you have Mrs. Johnson?
Her: ummm. I think you have the wrong person.
Me: ...... Yeah, I know. I totally made that shit up. My names Bird. Sup.

Still, I have a really hard time approaching 8s, 9s, and 10s.

The only thing I can do is talk their ears off. I use a lot of David Deangelo Techniques too. Those work big time.
