was checking out some videos of people doing GM's. The one vid. looked like the guy barely bent forward at all. Sure, he was doing 405 or so but didn't go down much. Is that how u're suppose to do them?? If so, I've been doing mine wrong, cuz i've been going down almost parallel w/the ground. So if I start trying them like the dude in the vid. sure my #'s are gonna go thru the roof.

almost parallel or as far as you can without rounding the back or dumping the bar over your head . :)

depends on why you doing them and what you trying to target. there are many variations of these as there are with most movements.

i use three variations for different reasons.

bottom up from about navel height to strengthen core and to help lockout on deads.

seated gms. targets lower back.

band neck gms w/dbs to torch the hammies.

I do most of mine in the power-rack with the pins set at about 2 inches below belly-botton level. this ensures I am always at the same depth.

When I want to target back only, I do them seated.

thanks guys. I use pins too. Checked out the vids bb and looks like thats closer to how i've been doing them. Haven't been doing them for many wk's so sure my form isn't perfect but sure tore me up the next few days afterwards. :) Thats how i know its working. Hey, do u guys have any vid's of seated gms?? Kinda curious to c what they look like.
