I just find the whole damn fitness thing sometimes funny. The ones I know are so lame! I have to say I could care less about your hair and nails and I would rather throw this heavy weight around the room and bite my nails!!!

I am not a feminine woman by anymeans. I am not gay either but I just dont fit in with these fitness women. The conversation bores me to death. Now the lightweight bodybuilding women are cool in my book!!!! Bodybuilding women are so much more cooler than the fitness chicks. I am totally biased.

Oh god no thats not me. lol but your very kind.
i'm younger and alot LOT less hair. lol
some of those ladies are very attractive no doubt. it takes a speical lady to be able to build up a fabulose body. i have a girlfriend that i share the love of the gym with we work out together and she is working hard to have a nice build. she dont worry about doing her hair as soon as she is done working out. or getting her nails done. she dose have it all though good looks and a nice body. i like the muscular ladies and for some that link will inspire them to work harder and for them selves.

I love lifting, but I actually cut a lot of muscle down in the past few months. I still want to maintain a figure and wear clothes that fit right!

I can not commit to the amount of gear or negative sides that being that big would require.

I know many women in BBing and Fitness and Bikini who are all very cool chicks. If you plan on competing in any of these you will have to care about hair, make up and NAILS! lol

It's strange but I find most of todays professional female bodybuilders DISGUSTING. If you've ever seen them up close and in person you would have a better feel for it.

I love fitness and figure simply because it is a muscular "barbie doll". I think many women have gone overboard with the insulin, GH, synthol, and AAS. I wouldn't want to even remotely resemble any Olympia FB competitor.

Bodybuilding used to be about body sculpting.....now it's exactly what the title says.....bodybuilding. I love shape, curves, and a fit body. I even like the new bikini category....a little bit of fat can look sexy. And by fat I mean not figure/fitness lean of course.

However I do still have tremendous respect for the female pros nowadays as they have worked extremely hard. They also have the guts and confidence to allow themselves to become a science experiment. Most would look at the term "science experiment" and thing bad right away.....but it takes alot of courage to do that to yourself AND be happy with the end result. And most seem to be so kudos to them!

Everybody has different body ideals on this board.....the thing I love is that we all are trying to help each other attain our goal while still being healthy!

You are very right.....even Female bodybuilders have to have the hair, make-up and nails done on stage or they could possible lose points!

Definitely right about everything! lol

I have a few friend who are trying to compete in pro BBing and just froma few years ago, their faces look so different! I dont think they care, they are so driven to sacrifice whatever it takes to be the biggest. I bet they are bigger than most of the guys on here. And I agree with Mar, those ladies are a lot of fun to train with!!

But I am glad you found your calling Marilyn. If your heart is in it, it makes training a lot easier and a lot more fun.

Good luck with everything.

Thanks just having some fun here!! I guess I am giving them traits that are called fantasies. I think they are cool and different, but maybe they are just as boring. I like people with personality so I assumed to be that different you got to have something different. But talking about turkey and tuna all day is not my idea of fun, and I am trying myself to get a life!! I have become a pathetic tuna talker!! I got to get another hobby. I dont know, everything I have ever done has been overboard I need moderation! Can this be achieved at 44 years old????

I have mentioned this to you before stevie... you desperately need to seek out other hobbies that do not involve fitness or the internet. go to a book store and find what interests you (outside of fitness), get in to gardening, go on vacations...for gods sake get a job!

It is very easy to feel like we are the center of attention. a majority of your posts stem from being compulsively vein. And you are not alone, many individuals in the fitness world feel like people are always looking at them, judging them and comparing them to other people. this simply is not true. I am quite passionate about fitness, but I could give a shit less what other people look like and what they think of me. I do it for the sole reason that it makes me happy. the gym can be my refuge and following a diet can keep my mind off of other strenuous facets of my life.

When you figure out that you are doing this for you and no one else, you will find peace and discover the real beauty of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I have to completely agree with you Dtone! When I first decided that I really enjoyed training and wanted to go a step further and start competing it was solely for the purpose of getting to a new level of being fit and having some fun.
Well, once I started to compete and train harder, I became obsessed. Seeing the changes and the end result of how my body can look was extremely exciting for me. The problem was, I wanted it all the time.
I started to give up everything around me for the gym. I lived there, morning and night. Neglected friends, family...and work started to change as well. It was no longer "a fun hobby" for me.
The reason I wanted to give my input is because I read about other girls(and guys) in the same situation. They will try anything to get their bodies the way they want fast. I was getting to the point where I was over training, but was addicted and couldn't stay away from the gym. I felt guilty for not going. Not to mention, all I could do is critique my body and think about all the things that needed to be better instead of focusing on how far I've already come along!

I have been working on changing that. I am have allotted only a certain amount of time per week for the gym. The rest is spent focusing on LIFE I am much happier now for doing this.
So I would definitely agree and say that find a bunch of things that make you happy, that way you don't become overly obsessed with one particular thing and can learn to enjoy everything you do. It's suppose to be fun, not a committed chore.

I hear you!! And I agree, however I do kid around alot. Here are the truths, I am compulsive. I am totally all or nothing. I look at this at least this is a heathy or lets say healthier hobby than smoking crack. Am I overboard , yes I can be that. But there is alot more to me, I lost my mom in August so life has changed alot and this helps me. I also like I said dont work or have kids. I am not obsessed with how I look, its the lifting heavy I love. I mean I love being strong, to the point where I could injury myself. I did it once before so I know. I am not looking for people to tell me how great I look or at least I dont see it that way. I hate all the compliments. I like the egde, the lift 100 pounds over head press and lets see if we can be in pain. I like PAIN! I know that sounds nuts but I really dig pain. Well I will try to get more of a life. I do things with my husband and hike, and read , and am smart so something else will eventually thrill me lets hope its not anything too bad. Thanks and I will examine what you said! Marilyn

I know bodybuilders, fitness competitors, figure and bikini competitors. The bodybuilders don't stand out in the way of personality except for the fact that many have lower self - esteem issues than the figure or bikini. And many of the don't do bodybuilding because it is a healthy lifestyle.....they started out that way....started abusing roids....realized they couldn't turn back so thought Fuck it....I've come this far....I may as well go all the way.

I want to tell you that lightweight bodybuilder women are similar like fitness girls and anyone can like them but if you talk about heavy weight bodybuilder women then they are disgusting

lol this was an entertaining read. I think none of us can say who is what and what is better. This is just like any sport, people become obsessed some use performance enhancing drugs and others dont. I wouldnt say a bikini competitor and a bodybuilders personalities are very different because how da eff would we know??!!!! We are individuals! Lets just all support, respect and see the beauty in one another and live in peace :)

I like individuals with character so I presumed to be that different you got to have something different. But referring to poultry and seafood all day is not my concept of fun, and I am trying myself to get a life!! I have become a horrible seafood talker!! I got to get another activity.
