Inection site pain

Injection site pain

So I've been sitting on my gear for about two weeks and last sunday finally gathered up the nerve to do what I call a "test run". Pinned 1/2 ml of GP test E 250 into my left quad. I know its a small amount but I just wanted to know what it would feel like and the way things turned out, I am glad I didnt shoot the whole ml. I knew there would be pain but Its friday night and I am still hobbling around like three legged dog.

I followed the usual safety precautions... washed my hands, used a bunch of alcohol wipes on the area and changed needles between drawing and pinning. I used 1.5 inch, 23G BD Safety Glide needle.

The pain is still severe enough to have me limping and make me wince every time I get out of bed. The site itself is hot to the touch and the muscle feels really stiff. I cant even raise my heels up to my butt. and If i try real hard it makes the muscle feel like a rubber band ready to snap. Also, the area just around the injection site is kinda 'lumpy'... the skin seems stretched.. you know kinda shiny. The quad overall is about 2" thicker than the other one.

Is thsi just routine from having shot into a virgin muscle or did I have the terrible bad luck of getting an infection/oil pocket/abscess on my first shot.

For my future shots would it be a good idea to have some powrful pain killers/ muscle relaxants handy?

this is completely normal bro.....Im not much of a pill popper...I just deal with the dead leg....if your only doing two shots a week you will feel alot less pain if you just pin your glutes....you wont get pain after about 2 weeks of pinning on a reg sched

Thanks for the help Cobra. I really hope I dont end up needing a wheel chair once I do the second shot today.
ust out of curiosity... are such complication significantly less or even non-existent with human grade stuff?

i doubt human grade stuff would take that away, you're talking about your first few times in each site here. i think i shot like 3ml my first time. hehe.

seriously though, you'll be alright. when i pinned my shoulders and pecs for the first times ever i actually didn't have an issue, was MUCH less painful than my original ass and quad hits at the very beginning of my cycle.

what part of the quad did you hit?

I wonder if you hit the right spot on your quad.If I hit the wrong spot I'm limping for days. Also why such a massive needle.I'm 250 lbs with very thick quads and use a 25ga 1" pin.

1.5 on quads. Forget that. I stick with 1". Quads suck especially a first time. Get some 1" and shoot in your delts next time. If it is painful at least you can walk. May also be the gear but more likely virgin site or vaginitis.

Did you make sure it was one of proper areas in quads or did you just pick a spot?

After a week or two it will go away then you will be huge and super tough and chicks will be all over you and your dick will grow and you will be able to pick up a car and that's just from laying on the couch eating pizza.

I hate it when I get Vaginitis!!! 1.5 in my quads though :)

GP Test E for me left the muscle a little tense.
Sometimes if i took my time it would be pain free.
Sometimes i was crippled.

So far i have been shooting 2.5ml of GP Test E and Deca
With 27G Half inch in quads.
No pain ever.

I use 1.5" also, I burie that shit in there nice and deep. But next time I need more pins ill opt for the 1 inchers to try them out.

Thanks for the replies guys. I took a couple tablets of Aleve and the pain is all but gone. I still dont have full range of motion but at least it doesn't hurt like before.

Userat204 : I pinned in the upper quadrant of the left thigh. If I had to be more precise, Id say that i divided that square into four small quadrants and pinned the bottom right square - the one closest to the center... I guuess it would be the outer edge of the Rectus Femoris. Is that the appropriate spot to pin or should I do it farther out...away from the center?

Yeah I agree i definitely do not need 1.5 pins... 1" next time.

I think you just said you pinned your left thigh...you split your left thigh into 4 quad and pinned the bottom right? if thats your left then you that means you pinned on the inside of your thigh down by your knee...

you should be trying for the vastus lateralis...which is on the outside of your thighs...you were right by splitting up into 4 quads but on your left leg you should be pining the upper left quad...stay away from the center...thats the dont go past mark..I always go half way between the center of the side of your thigh and the center of the top of your thigh....my pin is usually at a 30 degree angle to the surface I am sitting on..

but Im not a doc...yet

My bad I did not explain it properly. I did split the left thigh into 4 quadrants and pinned the upper outer quadrant. However, in order to understand just where exactly in this quadrant I pinned, It might help to visualize as me splitting this quadrant into four smaller quadrants and then pinning the one that would be closest to the center of the thigh. Wow... I am confusing myself :p

OK check out the pic below. quadrant 1 represents the upper outer quadrant of my left thigh (dont get too caught up with teh spatial orientation :P) and sub-quadrant 1d is where i pinned. Would this be OK?

Also, I pinned straight down... at almost 90 degrees to my leg. Did I misunderstand you or are you suggesting that I should go in at a 30 degree angle?

so let me make sure this is correct....if 1 is upper outside left that would make 2 outside above the knee and 4 inside above the knee...if that is how your diagram shows...then I would pin directly in the center of quad 1....so where all 4 boxes (1a,1b,1c,1d) meet...thats where you want to stick it....and since you will be coming in from the side of your leg your syringe will be approx at a 30 degree angle to whatever your sitting on (your syringe will actually be perpendicular to your leg)...I sit when I do it so I can completely relax the leg muscle...

anyway the rectus femoris is a large muscle and you are proly fine with what you did...just make sure you dont go anywhere past that top center towards the inside because thats where all your major arteries and veins run...
