Infection in my right quad from pinning. How to explain to my Doc?

I have done everything correct from day 1, pharm grade pinz. I dont know if it is the gear or what, but I have a lump the size of a golf ball on my quad. It is no doubt an infection. I just need to know how to explain to my doctor how I got an infection without telling him I have been pinning myself.

All I need is some antibiotics, but in order to get them, he will want to know how this happened, and as I stated before I do not want to tell him i've been injecting UG shit.

I know others have had to deal with this also, so I would appreciate the advise guys. Thanks in advance.

You were crawling around in a dumpster, looking desperately for your car keys that you might have discarded accidentally. You then slipped. Something stuck you in your leg, but you don't know what.

If he/she buys it, they will undoubtedly run AIDS/Hep screens. But who cares? You get your antibiotics, and follow up care.

That being said, he/she will probably know that you are full of shit, but won't be able to prove it.

BTW, don't use quads unless you need to.

Is there a particular reason why you cant tell ur doc? If it's just personal preference I'd say just be honest, or find a different doc to talk to. My personal doc knows what I do and it's beneficial to me. That way I can keep track of my blood levels, get my pct thru prescription, and have a real docs point of view. Just my 2 cents

I would love to tell him but then he would put that in my file and as you know, everything today is eletronic and can be looked up within a matter of minutes. Say I do tell a different doc. It would undoubtedly go into a file that could be seen by anyother doc I go to in the future.

I do agree that honesty is the best policy, but I don't know if that applies in this situation.

Simple just go to the doc and tell him you got poked in the leg.Say you were in a junkyard pulling parts. It is very believable.

I see how u could be unsure bout telling your doc, and obviously you could come up with a variety of bs stories to tell. But there is doctor/client confidentiality. Not to mention if they wanted to transfer that info anywhere YOU would have to sign a medical release form. Just sayin. Either way way you choose to go, good luck

You still in the military? If not, it doesn't matter. Others doctors don't have access to your medical records unless you specifically ask for them to fax them to another physician.

If you are still in, you're gonna have to come up with a story. They'll know or assume you're making stuff up anyways. Just say you met a hot chick at the bar recently and she's in med school. You been hitting it for a while (that's really just there to make you sound awesome lol). She wanted to practice pinning on you before getting tested on the procedure in school the next day.

I recently had a similar problem. I told the doc the truth. HIPPA laws ensure that they can't say anything etc. The only regret I have is that if my life insurance agent were to find out (because it will be in the file) my coverage will be jepordized. But like glubbiggobsofwad said, If your in the military-it's story time.

I'm out now(3 days after my bday), but even still, couldn't I just say I was poked with something sharp, didn't think anything of it until a few days later, I had a large infection spring up?

I would rather not say anything that would let them know i'm on the sauce.

Are you positive that it's an infection? If your really worried about what he might think than just tell him it was a one time deal and that you regret it (that's what he wants to hear). Or just tell him you have been feeling week/ill and you thought a shot of B12 would help you out.

I am positive. It hurts like a MOFO, and it is crazy looking. Huge.

Say you stepped on a board that had a nail in it. The board popped up and nail stuck u in leg while helping a friend finish his basement. There's a million things. Make one up.

intramuscular vitamin b 12 shots for the win always good to haveabottle kicking around as well so if anyone finds your darts easy way out i take b 12woot

most of the scenarios i'm reading about here would leave a puncture mark much greater than a needle.

i seriously doubt they've actually used these methods before, any doctor i know would be asking questions like crazy at that point cause they would KNOW you're full of shit and a doctor doesn't want to diagnose and treat without knowing as much as they can about what they are dealing with before hand.

but maybe your doc doesn't give a shit and would let you lie like that and not try to pry the truth out from you i dunno. docs i've gone to would've.
