Ketogenic diet really good while fighting cancer?

A friend of a friend was diagnosed with an astrocytoma, grade II glioma brain tumor and doing chemo and radiation now.
Many have suggested to her to do a keto diet while she does her treatments. She reached out and asked me if this was the best option out there.
Any words of wisdom, advice here from the pros?

I'm not a believer in fighting cancer through diet. Preventing cancer through diet, yes.
I've recently beat Hodgkin's lymphoma and many folks suggested an alkaline diet which would exclude meat. In the end radiation killed the cancer.

I've not heard of keto as an anti cancer diet. I'd look into the alkaline diet if you're looking for that sort of thing.

Thanks, but my question is not to fight cancer with this diet but rather to use this diet while fighting cancer to deal with all the body needs while undergoing chemo etc.

Well, my dad is an oncologist and I'm home for the holidays. He said there are lots of theories on the Internet, but nothing proven. He'd never heard of keto being suggested. He suggested a well balanced diet....whatever that means

the idea is that cancer cells/tumors grow and thrive off of glucose (carbs) , if you go full ketogenic and run off of fats and Ketones, then the cancer cells will no longer be "thriving" off of the glucose. this thus then slows down the growth of the tumor
