Legs Day and overstraining.

hey guys ,, just looking to see if this has happened to anyone else.

legs day for me yesterday, i always go pretty intense,,, but yesterday after my last set last rep of racking the leg press machine (which followed 5 sets of squats)... i hopped off and the back of my head felt like it was going to explode from straining to hard... it literally dropped me to my knee's.... this morning i still have what’s left of the pain as a headache..... i thought i was going to have a aneurism.

Sounds like a breathing problem and/or blood pressure. I'd concentrate on your breathing sequence while doing heavy, intense lifts. Do you monitor your blood pressure regularly? If it is high normally, heavy training and holding your breath can make a bad situation even worse.

..

my blood pressure is actually very good,,, but your right about the breathing 100%,,, the last 2 reps i'm SURE that i wasn't breathing. but the headache has persisted ,, even this morning ,, do i have anything to worry about?

good post aboot...yea imo its pretty hard to overtrain the legs.

rookie,,, the legs are good,, my concern lies within the headache that i have from overStraining ,,,, not overTraining. . . . thanks though.

when you do leg press, do you bring your knee to your chest???

yes ,,, i forgot to metion that, i adjust the seat ALL THE WAY DOWN. i'm only 5'7" so thats like a deep squat... and i don't count it as a rep unless the weights touch the bumpers just a bit.

like aboot mention work on the sequence of your breathing. if it persist even while not working out you should see your physician.

there ya go..that's the prob.

when you are doing leg presses..you don't bring your knees to your chest. Do you feel like your butt is floating when you're going way down?? Push it up when you feel that..

i'll give that a try ,,, thanks angry..

ok,,, so the headache got so bad that i drove my self to the emergency room last night..... they took a ct scan and a spinal tap.. (that was fun). . . . there was no blood found in my spinal fluid which was good and the ct scan came out negative ,,, but i was told that it is VERY possible to rupture something and bleed into your brain..... this was not the case this time,,, though she wasn't sure why the headaches are so bad. was just told to take a week off.
