Lets all talk injuries.

I did something really dumb 3 months ago. I maxed out on french press (scull crushers) and got an injury in my elbow tip. It was a little tear that sounded like a snap. It honestly looked like a spike. Now it is almost gone and normal. Maybe another month and a half. Why do these damn injuries take sooooooooo looooooong to heal? I know why, but it really sucks. It is so depressing and really sucks to feel useless and small because I am not supposed to work out until it is 100%. I can not stand feeling and looking average and pathetic. IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM GETTING REALLY restless now as it is 85% healed!

Please give me some injury stories of yours to help me have a bit more patience and maybe feel a bit better PLEASE!!!!!!!

I hate waiting...

I feel you man. I had to take 7 months off lifting cuz of thumb injury

But you know what, injuries are great. You get a nice relaxing vacation, and time to research and come back stronger.

Just remember this... there's no problem that can't be solved by positive thinking.

When I was injured, I realized all my faults. I was addicted to supplements, couldn't workout without wraps straps and gloves, and overtrained like you can't imagine. I then got the time to research, and made an amazing come back. Just look forward to coming back better and stronger

Stay patient, the last thing you want to do is push now that your feeling a little better. You could run the risk of re injury and then you will really be depressed. Stay patient. You can do it.

Thats true. My fault was, I maxed out too often, and that is not safe. Im a bodybuilder getting too excited with my strength. Not a power lifter. I was so dumb, but it had to happen in order for me to learn because I would not believe anybody.

There you go man. The injury has taught you a lesson... don't max out too often lol
Now you can go back to regular lifting knowing that too much weight can be harmfull.
Optimism is the shit!!!

Yeah. After the injury I researched alot and found out that in bodybuilding, if you can not do at least 6 reps in an exercise, it puts your joints at risk. Anything over 6 reps and it is considered safe. Something so basic and I did not even know. Unreal.

I had my shoulder reconstructed less than a year ago.

I'm still not up to where I was just before surgery. I've done all the rehab. I've taken it slow. I'm still about 6 months behind where the surgeon said I would be. I'm starting wonder whether I'll even get back to where I was, let alone make any real progress.

Injury sucks.

a reconstructed shoulder?! What was wrong with it? How did it happen!?

Torn glenoid labrum. I understand it is an injury common among baseball pitchers in the States. I did it playing rugby. The reconstruction consisted of inserting 3 screws into the bone and then suturing the torn cartilege back onto the bone to get it to fuse again. It was done laproscopically so the damage to surrounding muscles was minimal. Unfortunately the limb had to be immobile for about 6 weeks which meant zero weights and therefore heaps of muscle wasting. Even after that, I could still only do light leg press and crunches for about another 3 months.

The muscle wasting has largely been fixed, but the width and density of shoulder, chest and upper back muscles is still noticeably different. On the hand, I've been able to concentrate more on legs so they're doing better than ever.

Now, I'm doing an intermediate 5x5 routine. The first 4 weeks were really light and easy and I thought it was the answer. Wrong. My shoulder is hurting like a bitch this week and I'm still about 10% off my pre-surgery weights, which were modest anyway.

Nobody likes a whinger (I think you guys say whiner), but you asked.

I currently got a rotator bruised right now from not training back in such a while I got a muscle inbalance right now front delts are stronger than rear delts so the rotator cuff got screwed. doinb rehab all they got me doing is back movements standing cable rows and among other things some rotator cuff excercise. My rear lats are sore at end of workout.

believe it or not, I had my left knee bruised as the 260+ dead came down after my lift. it bruised hard on m knee, leaving bruises and black and blue stuff. it hurts...but only when you poke it. i can weight bear without prob. so far, no serious injury as of now. when injured, it is the best time to rest. if restless, do long ass cardio!!!!

Not long ago I injured my lower spine during deadlifts. I guess it was also someting on my sciatic nerve because I had my right leg painful and weak. It went away after 3 days.

How did it happen during rugby? That is crazy man. For real.

Rugby is a contact game. No pads. The shoulders get knocked about all the time. Being sore is normal. One day the soreness would not go away and the shoulder got really stiff. I saw a doctor. He sent me to a surgeon. Surgeon diagnosed the tear. An MRI confirmed it. Next thing was surgery. All that is no big deal. The problem is that it takes fucking ages to get better.

Injuries are all a part of the game. All the pro bbers get them. I won't tell how many injuries I've had because of all these years of heavy ass lifting. I've strained just about every muscle in my upper body even with proper form and all. I had to learn to work around my injuries. Hell, I have a nagging left shoulder which hurts and goes numb from time to time on heavy benching days. Don't worry, though, whatever you lost in terms of strength will all come back although it will take some time.

strained muscles is nothing. Muscle heals 100000000000x faster than tendons/ligaments.

I once strained my entire abdominal musculature. I was in agonizing pain for 15mins, and did what women usually does when they haven't gotten any.

Peace and chicken boobs to ya'll!
